  1. Lyoth and Stawren were aboard the Galaxy Surfer again. The two were about to leave the trio of planets inside the Aergoroth Nebula, and they were looking at the list that the scientist had given them. “Four ingredients,” Lyoth stated, “granitewood from Jitha in place of the ancient petrified calstos that they said is almost used up in the universe. It will be interesting to visit my home planet again after so many years. I hope we’re reunited with Phentrom and the others before then; I’d
  2. Phentrom and Quigley were staring at each other. “What do you mean?” Quigley asked the mandroid quietly. “I know the voice that called you, the one claiming to have your wife and daughter.” The bounty hunter’s eyes flashed with rage. “How do you know who it was?! Who was it?” “Please let me help you,” Phentrom continued. “I also want to live a peaceful life, and I also want to be with the ones I love.” The fire in Quigley’s eyes dimmed, replaced by confusion. “Love?
  3. Froufrou was trotting down a path that led alongside a mellow river. The pug was strapped in his green leather harness, and his leash was being held by little Riah. Froufrou was leading the way like the conductor of a parade. Fonith and Finnow were behind Riah, and Captain Suoki walked with his cane beside Golvinte at the back of the little group. “Uncle Golvie,” Riah called out to the bounty hunter, “are we almost at schmoodle’s house yet?!” The group was on the planet Oluo, headin
  4. Quigley’s ship, the Burn Throne, rose above the surface of the planet where he had made a home for himself and his family. Once it was beyond the atmosphere, he activated its cavitation engine, and the vessel disappeared into the void. The emotions Quigley felt about his wife and daughter being taken had shifted. After his initial shock had subsided, he could only focus on wrath and getting revenge, but eventually he reached the point of acceptance. By that time though, Quigley had armed h
  5. Ogdia and little Roovin led Stawren and Lyoth to another teleportation doorway, and the two warriors stepped through it. They appeared on the planet Xecot. The Blue Allarei man who had contacted them over the Galaxy Surfer’s coms while it was still traveling through the nebula was awaiting their arrival, and he welcomed them. “Greetings, travelers!” “It’s Ilial, right?” Stawren confirmed. “It is indeed, well-remembered!” Ilial was dressed in a fitted indigo and pale pink pin
  6. Quigley walked through his empty home. It was quieter than it should have been. He entered his garage. A busted old speeder bike that he had been working on for the past few months was still in pieces. He scowled at it, as if disappointed that it had not put itself back together while he was away. The bounty hunter clenched his hands into fists, but then he relaxed his fingers and took a slow and controlled breath. Quigley turned to one of the walls in his garage and opened
  7. Riah was giggling uncontrollably. She was trying to hold Froufrou in her arms, but the squirming pug was licking her chin over and over, and he was making it difficult for the girl to keep a grip on him. Her mother was seated beside Fonith. The two women were very similar in appearance. They both had rich olive skin, and both were tattooed with many black geometric symbols. Each of them was sipping a glass of wine. Riah tried to kiss the top of Froufrou’s wrinkly head, but he licked h
  8. An unknown amount of time had passed while Phentrom was unconscious, and eventually a loud hiss followed by a series of clicking noises caused him to wake again. One of the walls of his prison cell disengaged and revealed itself to be a door. It opened, and the darkness was flooded with glaring harsh light. Phentrom brought a hand up to shield his eyes, and he realized bars still blocked the doorway. A man stepped into the opening and began to say, “We’re about to arrive at…” but he was in
  9. Stawren and Lyoth were staring at the biomechanical jellyfish. “This, I’ve got to see!” she declared to him. “Please, come this way,” one of the medical technicians requested. The man helped Lyoth remove the bandage from his shoulder and added, “Please, lie down on the hover-bed.” Another medic stepped up to Stawren. “Would you like to take a seat over here?” he offered, waving her toward a small table to one side of the room. “Thanks,” she replied as Lyoth stretched out on
  10. Phentrom awoke with a pounding headache. He brought a palm to his forehead and opened his eyes, but he found himself in total darkness. The pain in his head forced him to squeeze his eyes shut again, and he took a ragged breath. He groaned aloud, “What happened to me?” Phentrom reopened his eyes, and the mandroid activated bioluminescence from his retinas. Two beams of light shone forward from him like a pair of flashlights, and Phentrom realized he was locked in a small room. H
  11. “What do you mean Phentrom’s been taken?!” Lyoth asked Neptithia in dismay. “I just disconnected from Fonith, and she told me what happened. A bounty hunter attacked Phentrom and Suoki in the streets of Boullia Bay. Suoki was shot, and the bounty hunter took Phentrom.” “We need to meet up with Fonith,” Lyoth declared to Stawren. “We need to rescue Phentrom!” Neptithia continued with the details. “Fonith told me she knew the other hunter, and she’s going after him. She said she
  12. The warm yellow sun above the island city of Boullia Bay was shining down on Phentrom and Captain Suoki. They were strolling together along a path at the water’s edge with Froufrou leading the way. Captain Suoki had dressed his pug in a little sailor’s suit, and quite a few of the other pedestrians out that morning stopped to greet the men and say hello to the dog. Froufrou liked the attention. They wandered along until they came upon a little café, and the men paused to examine its menu.
  13. After Stawren and Lyoth destroyed the cargo shuttle on the salt flats outside of the Allthrin ghost town of Rubyvale, the two warriors joined Neptithia at her home in Bavport. “I’ve found something!” the Blue-skinned woman declared as they came in through her front door. Stawren wrapped Neptithia in a tight hug. “Really? What’d you find, auntie Thia?” Before Neptithia replied, her eyes went to Lyoth’s arm in the sling and the bandage over the blaster wound on his shoulder. “
  14. Of the 600,000 assassin viper androids unleashed upon the universe by the Intergalactic Covenant of Unification for the Ages, only a tiny percentage of them had been destroyed, and their genocidal onslaught continued. The machines had already spread across the face of one of their target planets. They had razed it of all the sentient life on-world. The planet was called Sigathi; its people were the Oahona, and their race was brought to the brink of extinction by the assassin viper androids.
  15. Lyoth and Stawren head in one direction, as Phentrom is taken in another. Fonith goes on a universe-spanning hunt, and Captain Suoki makes a new friend. Chaos ensues in different ways for each of them. Will they all ever be reunited?

  19. On a warship called the Planet Eater, one of the councilmen from the Intergalactic Covenant of Unification for the Ages was discussing revenge with a trio of pirates. “Boullia Bay holds no significance,” the councilman stated. “But our admiral was murdered,” one of the pirates growled. “And our island kingdom was stolen!” added another. The councilman pursed his lips. “The Organization was willing to label what you lost a kingdom, but do not think for a moment that we will
  20. It was morning in Boullia Bay, and Jintrin was sitting with Captain Suoki in front of a café. Froufrou was strapped in his snug harness of soft green leather, and his leash was in the captain’s hand. Phentrom had stayed at Jintrin’s house, tempting the other two that he would be cooking them breakfast when they returned. After the men finished their beverages, they were going to get a latte to bring home to Phentrom. The island sun was shining, and it was a lovely morning, but they were looking
  21. @drpaladin I've changed it around, thanks to your recommendation, which I think was totally correct. I've re-pasted the chapter with the updates. I hate to ask you to reread it, but I'd love to hear if you think what I've changed solved the issue. Thanks again, Adam

  23. haha yes, i suppose that's true! they could have gotten a ship first and skipped the walking hmmm do you think that would make more sense? does that scene deserve a little bit of a rewrite, or is it okay?
  24. As the payload of killer robots descended upon the unsuspecting citizens of Xanithon, and the shuttle’s bay doors closed, a prompt appeared and began to blink on one screen. Lyoth turned to it and read aloud, “Activate return flight.” “This ship didn’t come to Xanithon to deliver these bots to someone, like we thought,” Stawren stated. “The crew was probably sent on this mission with the intention of regrouping back at the mercenary’s base afterward.” “You two need to get out of
