  1. “This is not what I expected,” Phentrom said to Lyoth with a giggle. The front gate leading into the Periwinkle Pickle was an enormous mouth with shimmering luscious red lips and a huge tongue extending forward. The two men stepped on to the pink walkway with Stawren and Fonith, and the group entered the mouth. They found themselves in a sprawling outdoor pavilion, and there was so much to see that the overstimulation caused them all to remain silent for a moment as they observed the
  2. Ratchet and her team of mechanics were able to handle all of the other repairs to the Cometskipper, and it was soon leaving the mining community behind. Once the ship was beyond the atmosphere, Fonith activated the cavitation engine. She scowled at the screen in front of her. “Only 4.1 light speed? Dammit, there must still be something wrong. At least we’re moving faster.” She pulled up a map of the neighboring galaxies. “All the way over there?” she asked, more to herself than the others.
  3. Phentrom continued reading off the problems with the ship. “The cavitation engine meter just dropped to zero,” he informed Fonith. “Ugh,” she groaned in reply. “That means we can only travel at 0.1 light speed until we can land and have external repairs made to the ship.” She pulled up a chart of the nearest planetary system. “Oh great,” she said sarcastically, “there’s a massive asteroid belt. That’s normally where marauders or mercenaries like to make their bases.” Her scanner blinked. “
  4. “What type of ship is this?” Lyoth asked Fonith. She smiled at him. “One of my own design, the Cometskipper is part cruiser, part cargo ship, part pleasure vessel, part battleship, and everything I need!” Fonith patted the inner bulkhead affectionately. Her ship raced through the void toward the empty space where they thought the starship Ulaa-Lah might be headed, and the secret base in the dark system nearby. Before leaving the oasis planet, they had informed the others who were remai
  5. Captain Suoki heard the door to his room unlock. He leapt to his feet and bellowed, “Are you going to let us out of here or what?!” His pug, Froufrou, yipped in grumpy agreement. The door opened, and Penqui was on the other side of it with a pair of soldiers. “Where is it?!” he asked. “Where’s what?” Captain Suoki sneered in reply. Penqui looked over his shoulder at the two officers behind him. “Search the place.” “If I knew what these two space-apes were looking for, ma
  6. “Phentrom, why didn’t you tell me sooner about Captain Suoki?” Lyoth whispered to the mandroid. “I knew you were focused on helping the people of Boullia Bay,” Phentrom replied, “and I realized there was nothing we could do for him until we get more information.” Phentrom and Lyoth were with Stawren on the roof of Neffah and Lingkrati’s apartment. Stawren was staring out over the city while the two men talked quietly together. Lyoth sighed. “You’re right.” Phentrom shook hi
  7. Thank you! I'm so thrilled that you're enjoying it! Chapter 14 will be live at 1am PST 💀
  8. Thank you, i'll add a little more explanation in first chapter
  9. @drpaladin @drsawzall The Ulaa-Lah is a city-sized community vessel with a crew and permanent inhabitants who are all men. The harem is actually a reverse-harem, in which the men are there by choice and all the loving is free to everyone onboard the ship. Because of the large population aboard the Ulaa-Lah, it needs to have the means to protect itself and its people. Do I need to spell out these details more clearly at the beginning of the story? Thank you all so much for your thoughts and input! 💗
  10. “We are in orbit above the planet, admiral,” the pilot stated. “And sir,” the communications officer added, “I have confirmation that the Devastator is on its landing approach.” The admiral did not move or respond. The Devastator was a military astro-frigate that the pirates had hijacked years earlier. The commandeered vessel was heavily armored, and they retrofitted it with supplemental weapons that suited their violent needs. It was headed for Boullia Bay. The communication
  11. “The money’s in a ghost account!” Stawren declared with a laugh. Fonith chuckled. “No one at the bank looked at me twice.” “I’m glad they didn’t,” Jintrin replied to her. The small group of rebels was back at Neffah and Lingkrati’s loft. They were all on the rooftop patio. Around Tenki’s waist was wrapped a binding that held a thick bandage in place over the stab wound in his side. One of the protective cybernetic panels of his armor was malfunctioning from damage it sustai
  12. A quiet knock came from the outside of the massage room’s door. The man on the table looked up with a scowl. His name was Pilditrop Mershuth Finquini junior. “What?” he barked at the closed door. “Sir,” came the muffled voice of his assistant, “there’s an emergency, sir.” “There’d better be,” Pilditrop growled. He pushed himself up from the table and wrapped a towel around his waist. “What is it?” he snapped as he yanked the door open, flooding
  13. It was morning, and Phentrom was with Jintrin. They were standing in front of a café. “This is the place?” Phentrom asked. “It is,” Jintrin replied. However, instead of entering the establishment, Jintrin stepped up to one side of the café’s entrance and opened a small door that revealed a narrow staircase hidden behind it. They entered, closed the door, and ascended to a hallway. Jintrin walked past a few side rooms without giving them a glance. At the end of the hall was another
  14. “Senklin, where’s my bloody ale?!” a pirate captains snapped at the silver-haired barkeep. “Hurry up, you scurvy old barnacle, and bring me my beer!” The man behind the bar was disheveled. Every day was the same for Senklin; the only variation was how violent the pirates might become before the night’s end. “Comin’ right up, sir,” Senklin replied. He grabbed an empty tankard and thrust it beneath the large barrel’s tap. As soon as the mug was full, he sloshed i
  15. A few blocks from Her Majesty’s Hole, Jintrin knocked on the door to a warehouse. Stawren, Phentrom, and Lyoth were with him. A little hatch in the door at eye level opened and the Blue face of a woman looked out at the group. Her hair was short and grey. She smiled at the sight of them. “Good afternoon, Neptithia,” Jintrin said to her. “Hello there, Jintrin and Stawren and their friends,” Neptithia replied, and she added, “Stawren, I got your message.” The small
  16. “To all those ladies and gentlemen who are here tonight…” the master of ceremonies began with a dramatic flourish. The crowd cheered. “To all the kings and queens…” The audience grew louder. “To all the squids and squirrels and bois and girls, and to all us kooky in-betweens…” Those gathered redoubled their applause. “Welcome to Her Majesty’s Hole!” Everyone in the tavern screamed in rapture. The place was packed. Speakers thumped with music temporar
  17. Phentrom swung open his door, leapt from the buggy, and yelled, “Lyoth, get over here!” “It’s all right,” Lyoth replied. He turned back to look at his beloved, as a woman stepped into view. She was very pale with pitch-black hair. Over one of her shoulders was slung a bow, and a quiver of arrows hung from the other. She was smiling wide. “Sorry I used you two foreigners as bait,” she commented, “but these assholes have been nothing but trouble. Damn satisfying!” She leaned down a
  18. Lyoth and Phentrom jumped in their seats at the devastating sound of the explosion behind them, and Phentrom slammed on the buggy’s brakes. The two of them spun around to see a fireball rising up from the place where their landing shuttle and three companions had just been. “What happened?!” Lyoth gasped. Phentrom’s gaze moved from the devastation up toward the clear blue sky. “It came from the Ulaa-Lah,” he declared. “They blew up the shuttle and killed Konark, Drolpi, and Morzil!”
  19. A few hours before the Ulaa-Lah arrived above the oasis planet, Thrad was strolling through the ship’s gardens with several men of the harem. He noticed two of Captain Suoki’s smarmiest counselors sneak off together into a private alcove. The other men with Thrad were cackling about a juicy piece of gossip concerning several galactic celebrities who had made fools of themselves. Thrad slowed his pace and the others continued on their way through the greenery without noticing that they lost
  20. Phentrom heard muffled talking before he opened his eyes. Most of the words spoken were incoherent, but some of them got through the haze of the fading drugs that were still in his system. Someone said abomination. Another whispered dangerous. He heard mumbling that spoke the words broken and also extermination. A separate voice whispered, “I’m right here,” and the sound of the words filled Phentrom with feelings he had never experienced. The mandroid tried to raise his eyelids, but
  21. exactly! for the audiobook, i'll pronounce it oo-LAH-la, but i was definitely calling it the OOOH-LALA when I first started writing 😆
  22. Captain Suoki eventually had his fill of love and left the harem to return to his private quarters. As he entered and closed the door, the Ulaa-Lah’s onboard computer spoke to him. “Master files associated with pleasure-android designate 5NTR0M indicate that it has breached its protocols and is malfunctioning. 5NTR0M has recognized a repetitive pattern in every human member of the Ulaa-Lah’s crew and developed advanced pleasure settings outside its Artificial Intelligence Program coding.
