Hooooo, boy. I'm completely wrung out. Just got done reading the whole story - and WHAT a story. I love your other stories too, like the series that began with "Guarded.'' But this "Oklahoma's Son'' is probably your best yet, in my opinion. Lots of chuckles in this one, especially with Robert and that ninny Rupert. But - like another poster above stated, I had some tears going too, in various parts of the story. It's impossible not to become invested in these guys, Ash and Taggert, as well as the rest of the guys in the bunkhouse. I think that storm was the turning point for the two guys, as it was the impetus for Taggert to finally take a peek out of his shell when he realized Ash had gone out into that tornado, and was in immediate peril of his life. Taggert didn't hesitate, and went after Ash to get him to safety. Then Taggert's emotional kiss for Ash, exposing his feelings probably a lot sooner than he would have wished. Very powerful; then you buoyed up the moment with the comic relief when he then scolded Ash, don't you EVER do that again! Lol. Great writing, masterful story telling. That last chapter - the scene in the standing-room only auction room, that drama and suspense leading up to the final gavel and, "SOLD'' was better than any TV courtroom drama.
Like many here have stated, I am sooooo down for a continuation of the story, or at least a lengthy epilogue.
Good stuff Mr Gray; thanks for a great read.
