:sigh: I should have known better than to have had a frenzied marathon reading session of the entire Do Over Redux... (up to chapter 19)
I feel so touched and sad for Davey. No matter how much he tries to delude himself, he and Brian can never have the same life they had before. He's already a multi-millionaire and Brian will not feel like an equal partner and no matter the cover story, the Modesto kids have been uprooted from their home because of Davey, and will resent him somewhat for that.
Also it'll be obvious from the get-go that he's no ordinary teen, and they won't have the friendship with him built up as they had in Time Line 2 before finding out his time-traveling secret.
Even if he and Brian did get together, Brian would realize that Davey's always going to see him as the Brian in that other life that hasn't happened for Brian and it would be strained because Davey has all this intimacy already for Brian and Brian had only recently become acquainted with Davey. Maybe Davey will eventually come to his senses on this (I know, fat chance of that) and turn to one of his Eureka friends, David perhaps? Who knows?
There were some typograpical errors that distracted a little from the story, but mostly I'm just going insane with waiting to see what happens next. I just turned 39 this past week and I guess I'm not as patient as I used to be when I was younger.
By the way, Dan, "used to" is more correct than "use to" when meaning "accustomed to." Sure, when it's spoken the d is not pronounced, but it's still spelled "used to." Okay, that's enough of the grammar lesson. (damned Catholic education)
Well, I looked it up and it's more complex than that. When coupled with "do" it really IS "use to." :sigh: Here's the URL for a better explanation: http://www.bartleby.com/64/C001/065.html Isn't the English language fun?! (and eating crow is tasty)
Anyway, write! I want to find out what happens next!
