Runner-Up - 1. Chapter 1
Kyle was enjoying himself, slowly getting extremely aroused. He was finally able to remove the shirt from the guy he had next to him, giving him a better access to explore with his hands on the hot body. He would simply let his hands linger up and down the guy's torso, all the way down to the waistband of the Calvin Klein underwear he was wearing.
Their bedroom was dark, but he was still able to see, as he took a few seconds to look up, to make sure his boyfriend was also having his own fun, Ryan was now teasing their invitee's earlobes with his mouth. To complete it, Ryan was grinding his erection onto the cutie's hip.
Kyle went back at his task, kissing and licking all over the young guy's body. After a while, the temptation was simply too big, he gave a lick on the underwear on, the tip of the already hard dick.
David was starting to grow uncomfortable, however, his natural instinct kicked-in and he hastily pushed his undies down.
Kyle took it as an invitation, he immediately started to do his magic.
“We should stop.” David said a few minutes later as he realized what was happening.
The two boyfriends immediately stopped and after having exchanged a stupefaction glance, they looked at David, waiting for more explanation.
“I’m really sorry guys, I don’t think I’m ready for this right now.” He said putting back on his undies.
It came like a cold shower to Kyle, the thought had passed to simply to brush it off so he used his power of persuasion to convince the Adonis to continue. However, the fact that he actually liked the guy, and hoped that they could see him again and build a friendship which made him respect David’s decision. ‘I’ll go at his pace, it will simply be another day’ he thought.
“It’s alright, if you’re not ready, you’re not ready.”
“Yeah, don’t worry about it, we wouldn’t want you to feel pressured to do something that you don’t feel comfortable doing.” Kyle agreed.
Kyle simply settled in holding tightly the cutie in his arms, slowly caressing his body and giving soft kisses behind his neck and on his shoulders. From time to time, Kyle tried to test the boundaries of where his hand could wander trying to let his finger go under the waistband, before feeling David’s soft hand bring his own hand back up.
Slowly they would all fall asleep and the rest of the night went on without any event.
Any awkwardness that Kyle had expected didn’t happen the following morning. Although everyone kept very quiet in the car ride taking David back to his dorm building, it could be easily explained by the fact that everyone was still waking up.

The week went by extremely fast. All the events that had occurred the previous weekend was already a distant memory for Kyle.
After having kept his distance the previous Sunday, David started to send back-and-forth texts to Kyle, Monday night. Yet, it was already Friday night and, despite all the talk, the subject of a second meeting still hadn’t come up.
It kinda bothered Kyle a little, talking about anything, or almost, by text or on Face Time wasn’t the same thing as having the guy physically in the same room. That was what Kyle really wanted, yet he couldn’t get the strength to bring that subject up.
“Not too tired yet?” Ryan asked, knowing that his boyfriend is usually beat, at night, when he’s worked at six-thirty in the morning.
“It’s alright, I can survive a little longer. But if you’re suggesting that we get to bed and hold each other very closely and become one, I would have to say yes to that.” Kyle playfully answered.
“I wasn’t thinking about that, but I like your idea better.”
Ryan followed his boyfriend undressing on his way to their bedroom.

The two lovers woke up early enough the next morning. Instead of procrastinating the whole morning, as they normally would, they took the opportunity to get ahead in their errands.
For a change, instead of taking the car, they walked the ten minutes to get to the mall. While Kyle was getting himself a haircut, Ryan went hunting for a new pair of jeans.
“Now, what’s next?” Kyle asked as he got out of the hairdresser to find his partner waiting, sitting on the bench in front of the salon.
“You decide! Wanna grab a bite before we go and do the groceries?”
Kyle looked at his watch. Sure enough, it was a little past noon.
“Well, remember what happened the last time we did the groceries on an empty stomach?”
“Right, food it is.”
The food court at the mall was nothing to be impressed about, barely more than a handful of fast food restaurants to choose from. Kyle went for a piece of lasagna from the little Italian place while Ryan settled for some General Tao chicken at the Tiki-Ming.
While they were eating, Ryan tried to start the conversation.
“Do you know what you’ll want to do today?”
“Ryan, let’s just start by eating and get the groceries done, alright?”
He laughed it out. “That’s you’re way of saying that you don’t have a clue about it?”
“Maybe.”
“Well, I’m guessing that you will have some reading to get done at some point this weekend?”
Ryan fully understood that, even if he wasn’t in school and was working full time, his boyfriend was still in university and that it comes with loads of work. He always made sure that he didn’t make Kyle fall behind in his school work. That was the deal they made, little over a year prior as they moved into their condo together.
“Yeah, I still have some, but I was thinking about doing that tomorrow. Really, today, I dunno, I was just thinking about staying in and relaxing, watching movies or something.”
“Movies are fine with me. As long as I get to be with my sweetie.”
“ummm, deal!”
They finished lunch then went to the grocery store. They ended up taking more than what they had expected and didn’t feel like carrying all of the extra bags. They therefore paid that little extra to have it delivered to their place.
Since they were waiting for their groceries to be delivered, the two of them walked directly to their condo. Finally home, they decided to simply sit in the living room and put on their favourite TV show on DVD.
The first episode had almost time to finish when the buzzer finally rang. Kyle got up, and without verifying who was at the front door, he pressed on the button to unlock the main door.
Kyle went back to the living room area, however, figuring out that it wouldn’t be worth it to sit back down, he stood in front of the TV while waiting for the knock on their door.
When it came, Kyle went back to open the door. Expecting the delivery guys, he was pleasantly surprised as he opened it.
“David!” Kyle was momentarily lost for words. “What are you doing here?”
“I was in the neighbourhood, you gonna let me in?”
Kyle had his doubt about the answer he received. Granted their place was only a ten minute ride from downtown, however he couldn't find a reason why he had to get in the suburbs. Never the less, he was happy to see him that it didn’t matter to him.
He stepped aside to allow David in.
“Yeah, of course.”
Kyle turned around and gave his boyfriend the heads-up.
“We have company.”
Ryan barely had time to get off the couch, David walked into the living room, followed by Kyle.
“David, it’s good to see you! How are you doing?” Ryan said just before pulling their visitor into a hug.
“I had to come in the area, so I thought I could stop by and see you guys a little.”
Sitting down on the couch, David finally came to think that, despite all the back-and-forth he had in his mind, all the planning he did, he had actually came uninvited.
“Of course, I don’t want to impose, if you guys already had plans, don’t change them for me, I’ll just get going.”
“Don’t you worry about that, we were just gonna stay in and watch a movie and relax all day. You’re not a bother.” Ryan answered.
“Besides, we did extend you a standing invitation.” Kyle promptly added.
“Thank you. Now I do think that I shouldn’t have come uninvited like that, I’m sorry about that.”
Ryan would never admit it out loud, but he couldn’t say that he completely disagree with David’s last statement. For him, it was only plain courtesy to at least advise the other that you’re coming. Still he knew that it was making Kyle happy, and that was enough for him to let it pass.
Kyle chimed in before his boyfriend could even think about opening his mouth.
“Nonsense, don’t worry about that.”
David didn't know what to answer to that. Ryan broke an uncomfortable silence before it could install itself.
"How was your week?"
"It was good, the days and the weeks goes way too fast."
"That's a good thing, no? It means that you really like what you do." Ryan said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"So, how come you had to come on the south shore?"
David was hoping that they wouldn't ask him that. Depending on how much details he'd give in his answer, he'd get more questions than he was ready to answer at that point.
"I had to work on a school project with a classmate. I went to his place and it so happens that he's on the south shore too."
David felt strange for not being completely honest.
"Oh, nice, managed to finished it all?" Kyle jumped in.
"Most of it. I guess we'll meet again some other time on campus to finish it."
Their conversation got interrupted by the doorbell. One more time, Kyle got up and pressed the button to unlock the front door. Minutes later, the groceries was finally delivered.
David helped the two lovers put the groceries away. Then, once that was done, the three of them decided to watch a couple of movies.
After the second feature, David decided that it was getting late and left.
Kyle decided to leave with David and walk him back to the metro station across the street.
“You know, you don’t have to walk me there.”
“Hey, don’t mention it. Besides, I wanted to get some snacks at the dep.”
After walking David to the metro station, Kyle did make a stop at the convenience store on his way back. He could have done without it, but he wanted to walk with David as far as he could.
***
Monday morning came much too fast for Kyle, it was still pitch dark outside as his alarm reminded him that he could no longer staying in the comfort of his bed. He had no more than fifteen minutes to get ready and leave if he didn’t want to be late.
He rapidly prepared himself and got dressed, took his keys and left, without forgetting to kiss his boyfriend goodbye. Ryan, who was still sleeping, remain unaware of his departure.
The twenty minutes’ drive from the condo to the hospital where he was working went by without any issue. One of the good thing coming from him working at the break of the day was that, at 6:20, he could drive to downtown without hitting much traffic.
At the hospital, Kyle walked through the labyrinth of the basement on auto-pilot getting to his small enclosed office in the food distribution centre. At his desk, he immediately noticed the light of his phone blinking red telling him that he’d have some last minutes changes to make in some of the menu slips.
Without wasting any time, he gave the pile of menus, which had been prepared and separated by the nutritionist the previous day, to the clerk that was already there, waiting to count the slips and start the prep line.
His morning rush had indeed started. A little over thirty minutes later, and after too many interruptions for last minutes changes, he had finished writing the last menu slip for the emergency room. He got up, walked the ten feet from his office to the prep line to give the final slips and announce the final count.
When came his break time, he was able to get out, and more importantly, able to turn off the airplane mode on his iPhone and finally check up on his Facebook and other social media websites he was on.
The sun was now fully out, and a beautiful day was in the works. As he was walking, enjoying the fresh air, his cell rang.
"Mornin' Ry! Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, I did, well until I noticed you weren't there anymore! You didn't kiss me goodbye like you usually do!"
"Haha, I actually did! You were just snoring and didn't even respond to me."
"Okay, maybe!"
"I can't remember, what's your shift today?"
"Twelve 'till nine."
"Nooooo!" Kyle complained as he knew full well that it meant he'd be, one more time all alone that evening. It also meant that by the time Ryan would get home, he would need to get to bed.
"It will be alright hun, you'll be able to work without me distracting you for once."
"I guess, but I like your kind of distractions!"
"You'll come to see me later?"
"I can’t promise it! I'll barely have time to walk to class." Back at the emergency entrance, Kyle had to hang up. “Anyhow, I need to get back in, talk to you later?”
“Of course!”
Kyle was about to turn on the airplane mode and get back inside when he received a text from David.
