Beside You - 1. Chapter 1

The poem explores the truth that not everyone who walks beside you is meant to stay. Each couplet reflects on how people enter our lives, share moments, and sometimes drift away. The refrain “beside you” reinforces the theme of closeness that isn’t always permanent.

Not Everyone Who Walks Beside You

Some hearts stay only for a season, though they walk beside you.

Love teaches its hardest lessons in the ones who leave beside you.

A quiet road remembers every footstep, every promise made beside you.

Yet even the softest vow can fade, for not all are meant to stay beside you.

In storms, you learn the weight of truth — who shelters, who hides beside you.

Rain reveals the faithful few, and washes away the rest beside you.

Longing grows from empty space, from names that no longer ride beside you.

But strength grows too, in learning peace with those who can’t remain beside you.

So, lift your eyes to the ones who stay — the loyal, the steady beside you.

For destiny is a narrow path, and only the true will stay beside you.
