Promises... Promises... - 1. Chapter 1

For the first time in my lifetime,
I have a friend.
It’s new and exciting,
telling you about my day,
or you just joking around.

I made a promise to you,
And I'm sorry I broke it.
Please you have to know how much it hurt,
that I regret not coming to you beforehand.
I tried really hard to keep it,
but I couldn’t in the end.

You even told me promises were meant to be broken,
Could you ever forgive me?

You’re hurt,
I can tell.
You try to hide it,
you joke around or leave for a week.
It hurts that you won’t open up those days.
But I understand, you gotta believe me when I say that.

Sometimes I feel as though you don’t want me around.
Well I don’t want me around,
so it’s still confusing that you at least put up with me.

When I met you,
I was on my last breath.
You saved me and I don’t know how to repay you.
You brought me back to life,
Just by listening,
By caring about whether I'm around or not.

You’d give me a hug and everything is okay,
just for a few seconds.
The pressure eases off my chest when I talk to you,
and you steer my thoughts back on track.

I’ll die before you,
don’t doubt that.
And I hope we could still be friends,
causing havoc after our deaths.
While trying to make amends,
for torturing ourselves,
in our unique ways.

Please don’t forget,
that I’ll always love you.
You’re one of the best things that’s happened to me,
and all I can say is I'm extremely sorry.

I just can't any longer.
I'm sorry
