The Mouse that Roared - 24. Thank You

This is the last full story in the Unison Island Series so I want to thank a few people. I may revisit character in prompt responses or anthology short stories to tie up loose ends and answer any questions you all may have.

My first thanks go to my beta reader Cannd and my editor Timothy M.

They have been invaluable to me in writing and polishing almost all my stories in this series. They have given me insights and politely pointed things out to me. I have been known to change characters’ names halfway through a story, or at least the spelling of a character’s name. I also can skip explanations a lot of the time. So thank you guys.

My next thanks goes to everyone who has made this site possible. The mods and admin and tech guys and gals that work tirelessly so we have a place to write and read all these stories.

And lastly, but certainly not leastly ;) , I want to thank my readers. You’re reviews, comments, PMs, and likes have really helped to keep me writing.

Thank you everyone

This is a thank you for a great story  ; but also a little bit of a flame.
It's about grammar . Two important things…
First, the past tense of may is might. You consistently use may where it should be might. Since you are writing mostly in the past tense, you should mostly be using might. For instance, "He thought it may be a problem," is incorrect. The sentence should read, "He thought it might be a problem." Thought is past tense, so may/might must be past tense, too.
Second, "lay" is what a chicken does with an egg. "Lie" is what you do on a bed. In other words, you don't "lay" on a bed. The past tense of "lay" is "laid." The past tense of "lie" is "lay" ("Yesterday he lay in bed all day." not "…laid in bed all day.")
By the way, you are not the only author who makes these two errors. It seems to be part of certain American dialects and a lot of people mix these words up when they speak. On the plus side, you don't make the much worse mistake of mixing up me and I. :worship:

Thank you for the review and the advice. Both are always warmly welcomed. I try not to make the same mistakes twice, but, I am only human... ;)

Hope you enjoy some of my others stories as well.
