Painted In Gold - 21. Strangers
Strangers surround me
and I can’t know why.
They say that they know
me, I don’t know them.
They seem familiar,
but I can’t put my
finger down on it.
My head aches from
the angst and pressure
these strangers have put
on my memory.
I can only count
on the nurse that checks
my vitals every
five or so hours.
I know her name; Deb.
Deb’s a nice girl, with
hazel green eyes, long
curly brown hair, and
two small baby boys;
Adam and Kyle.
I don’t know these so-
called friend of mine. To
me they’re just strangers
that lurk in the back
seat of my injured
mind.
