Hidden - 1. Chapter 1

Sometimes I hide

Within myself

I pretend

And deceive

Though deceit

Is not my true intention

It’s just a product

Of my fear

I’m afraid of showing

My true self

Sometimes I hide

My ignorance

There are so much

I don’t know

But I act like I do

And make of a fool

Of myself in the process

Endless blunders

Which shows

Just how clueless I am

Sometimes I hide

From the people I love

I’d smile

And laugh

They have no idea

What’s going on inside me

Because I’m terrified

That if they knew

They’d judge

And leave me

Sometimes I hide

From greatness

I avoid being recognized

Would rather they don’t

Praise me for something

It makes me very conscious

Of myself

I crave for anonymity

Just a face in the crowd

I’m nothing

Sometimes I hide

Because it’s the only

Thing I can do

Don’t want to face up

To my problems

I’m a coward

Who runs away

From my worries

And everything

A weakling

Sometimes I hide

But oftentimes

I want to be found
