Johnathan Colourfield's Poetry - 1. Scars That Affect The Heart

A poem dedicated to my boyfriend Jason :)
The feeling of the skin,

The adventure of the touch,

The inevitable feeling of lips upon lips,
Keeping control of your inner urges.
The hands adventure,
Beyond the barricades of society,
You feel his breath lightly on your ear,
His moans in true depth of the heart,
Intertwined both physically and mentally.
You run along his back with your hand,
Until a gasp..
A retraction..

You brushed past the point..
The point of such suffering,
The point of his only escape from life all those years ago..
You felt the agony of young childhood,
The pain of teenage life, never truly feeling accepted,
The suffering of his first year in the adult world,
Never knowing where to turn,
Never knowing what to turn to,
Until he finds his escape in the world.
All this escape,
This alternative world,
All that mattered was his own suffering,
The pain is no longer there but in his heart, he will always feel it.
The pain of the blade…
The movement of his skill simply because…
He didn’t feel accepted.
He never asked to be popular,
He never asked to attractive,
All he ever wanted was to be accepted fully.
To be in a world where society doesn’t look down on the different,
He knew, deep down, this would never be.

And so he turned on himself,
Made himself suffer for what others did to him,
He felt.. He felt as if he was helping him…
He tried everything to stop.
Every Alternative.
Until he thought he had finished, he thought he had got over it..
One Mistake is all it takes. One mistake and you are done.
He had One Mistake that he made, and he was paying for it ever since.
His pain, his agony, his life of misery and depression,
So easily healed…
Just to show that you care… and that nothing matters more than them..
That’s all they ever want..
To feel…
To fully feel…
Needed.
