Johnathan Colourfield's Poetry - 3. Reflections On The Soul - A Poetry Anthology

My second anthology is based on the song “Reflection” from the musical Mulan.
“The Future is In Our Hands” is based on the end of days.
“Reflections Of The Past”is based on the actions needed to get love.
"Shadows of Semyaza" is based on my character "Semyaza" from my "Trust me..." Series and his personal struggle.

The Future Is In Our Hands

If the food of love is music,

Then the food of hate must be lost tempo,

If we lose tempo we lose track of it all,

The world around us is lost…

The world around us ceases to exist,

The world will never stop for it so why let it play,

Why continue the charade that is the world of music and the world of fake truth?

Why do we keep the world as it is when we could go so much further?

The future is in our hands.

Is the world not a better place,

Is the world not coping in this disaster of a situation?

What better words to express the feelings,

The deep sinister predictions that will cause our end.

The future is in our hands.

The world is coming to an end,

It will be painful,

It will be soulless,

And it will involve every creature on this planet.

The future is in our hands

The end is coming, forever returning,

We need to stop,

We need to reflect,

To save our souls…

S.O.S.

For the better of man kind because…

The future is in our hands.

Reflections On The Past

My life is not of what is expected,

My part should not be played and yet I see,

I must not be myself…

I would hurt everyone if I was truthful,

If I was to be honest with everyone,

I cannot even see who I am anymore.

Who I deserve to be and who I should be…

I cannot hide who I am inside,

My Reflection tells me that I am not who I am,

I will never be,

Only when I am honest will my Reflection show who I truly am.

Who I should be, in my own eyes.

In his eyes.

I should show in my reflection the way I love him,

In my reflection my true self must come out,

In order to love him fully and to show that it isn’t all about looks and popularity,

My true self must be shown to break through the reflections of the past…

The Shadows of Semyaza
