The Collection: A story through poetry. - 4. Perfect's Just a Word

i've woken up on a perfect day.
there's a lump beside me, under the covers
just a simple warmth that lets me know you're there.

i've walked out to a perfect sky.
though i've left you lie in bed.
theres still a warmth that stirs inside here.

i've come back home to our perfect life.
you're still lying in bed
and something quakes inside that something is not right here.

i've picked you up in my imperfect arms
and i'm carrying you, i'm pleading to you.

i've been waiting in the imperfect halls.
the soft white stings in my eyes.
they're taking you away in a roar of sirens and lights.

i've been standing under the imperfect sky.
the sky could be red, or yellow or green for all I care.
waiting for you on this seemingly perfect day.

I will get happier eventually. But I sort of like this. It's fairly straightforward loss and love. Topics I like to read about.
