The Collection: A story through poetry. - 5. My Life is a Festival

A happy little ditty I wrote whilst walking around. It's my love of festivals, and such. and pretty boys that can charm the morals out of you.

And how sometimes, thats all you need to feel alive.

I got blue skies
and multi-colored tents
and a real cute guy
sitting on my legs.
he's got shaggy brown hair
and a twisted smile
he holds up a joint
and says lets hang for awhile.
I cant help but stutter
as I try to make my point.
"isn't that the kind of stuff
thats gonna get us caught?"

he says to me,
that none will have a clue.
and as long as we don't share it.
there's nothing they can do.
I say why not
and take a deep breath
I choke on the air
and wonder bout my health.
then it takes hold
and i cant help but laugh
at my worries and my nerves
they would never ever last.
but this festival life.
I'm liking more and more.
with this guy on my legs
and I'm feeling self-assured.

with the people all around us,
jamming into the night
and an easy going feeling
that lasts into real life.
and I think I understand
this drug like, festival daze.
that hangs around my mind
will last for all my days.

So enjoy, I rather like it.

p.s I realize the cliche of blue skies, but man, that's all you ever see out there.
