Something I don’t say

Something I never do

But I have a real need

To apologize to you

I treated you bad

I kicked you when you were down

Even though it made you sad

I always pushed you around

My needs were what mattered

I didn’t think about you

I was worse than selfish

I know it’s all true

But you always loved me

You didn’t throw it in my face

I’m lucky to have you in my life

No one could take your place

I know it’s already happened

I can’t take it back

But we can start from this point

I can keep things on track

A member of my family

Your blood flows through my veins

When the things we fought about are gone

Our bond will still remain

You know I have a hard time

Admitting I was wrong

But it’s easy to say

It was all my fault

I’ve known it all along

So chalk it up to being stubborn

Or maybe even vain

I never wanted to admit it

But I caused all the strain

I’ve got you in my heart

And my heart is in your hands

I’m asking for your forgiveness

But if not I understand
