Stannie's poetry - 3. The Magic World of Endlessness

I wrote this poem once for someone who I considered to be a friend, someone who was supposedly struggling with a life threatening illness. Even though everything turned out to be a lie, the underlying intention and meaning is sincere. I hope you like it!

I tried to imagine,

our space having no end.

But, unfortunately,

it’s not how it’s meant.

My brain is still not able,

to think about a border.

Just the fact things end,

is cause of my sleep disorder.

That’s why I believed,

in the magic world of endlessness.

But that would be as lonely,

as a world of friendlessness.

Although I won’t admit it,

it’s the end of things that scares me most.

But I do know that endlessness,

is as made-up as a ghost

There always is an end,

the limit of all that’s been.

And that’s where I have to,

start believing in.

There are just a few moments,

till we reach that scary end.

I will help you when you need me,

I will always be your friend.
