7.31.14 and other dates of insignificance - 5. Poem Five, Pulse
Pulse…
by Foster
No best effort
Mediocre
The daily grind
And weave
Of loose ends
And scraps
A trash pile
Of failures
To work with
Blindly picking
And discarding
Minutia
Impossible
To be honest
Always a con
No clarity
Just haze and mud speckled
Eyes
Round with deluded splendor
Red cream coffee nut pockets
Spilling chocolate giggles upon the floor
Non rational sense pretense
Spin
Fall
Shout
Grunt
Drunk
On yearning
To be heard
Seen
Believed in
Useless tears
Don’t a poem make
They’re polluted by time anyway
It’s all staged now
Gesturing jester questing
For it all
Stand
Turn
Throw your soul out at the void
Listen you fool
Listen to me
I’m not alone
I’m not
