Suffering is what we get from any attachment really!

that's a bleak outlook - friendship doesn't give happiness? :/

Zombie, buddy o'mine - apply tongue in cheek, and read again. Maybe it would help if you employ an Oscar Wilde accent as part of your vocal acrobatics.

Speaking of which, i remember a wonderful quote of his (in paraphrase):

"When we are children,

we love our parents unconditionally.

When we grow,

we judge them.

And when we finally grow up,

we are able to forgive them."

Tongue now firmly in cheek :P

And the OW quote is so true

I also like the Churchill quote - a funnier version  of Mark Twain's -  "When I was 16, I thought my parents knew nothing. When I was 21, I was shocked to discover how much they had picked up in the last 5 years." :)
