Your description of the bloodstain on the floor at the lighthouse reminded me suddenly Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The bloodstain there is supposed to belong to David Rizzio - Mary, Queen of Scot's private secretary. Pretty graphic in both cases. I mean, I've seen it, but does it belong to him? I don't know. I was taught that Fitz was used when the child was recognized by his father. But you might be right. I'm thinking of Henry VIII's son Henry Fitzroy. Maybe both are true.
