This is Robert Farrar here, the author of State of Independence. Thank you for this review, it touched me. My second novel (or novella) was only published in German. The English title was Watch That Man and the German title was Der Coolste Killer. It was filmed as The Man Who Knew Too Little with Bill Murray. The German version is probably available second hand, if you can read German. Also in the 90s I wrote the original screenplay for the movie Bedrooms and Hallways, an early gay-themed feature film, directed by Rose Troche. After some years writing plays and doing music I am now finishing my first novel since the 90s. It’s a comedy about a gay man who is driven mad by an extreme personal development course. So fingers crossed, let’s hope it gets a good publication! I plan to set up a Substack over the New Year. There is a Wikipedia page about me with more information.
