  1. WOW!!! Thank you ALL SO MUCH!!! I didn't realize there was this group with all these great messages until someone pointed me to it. I guess I've retired the Birthday computer (and had to look up my sign-on even) and not kept up with the Birthdays any longer. I've had fun doing birthdays over the past several years but I have no imagination so they all pretty much sounded the same. I DID have a GREAT birthday (bought a used car we badly needed, lol). Thank you ALL <3

The thought comes to mind that perhaps your Mom is going thru the change of life which all women go thru. Rapid mood swings are one often symptom. Perhaps she could see her physician to be sure there aren't any medical conditions contributing to those mood swings and if there are, she could get some help. At the same time, be honest with yourself and be sure you are not being confrontational with her. Maybe doing something nice and unexpected for her occasionally (perhaps including Matt) would help.
  3. I've really enjoyed CAP (currently in The Land Whore section) and all the historical events really bring back memories for me. A question though regarding the war in Vietnam. I was curious why the news always comes from the newspaper. America was on the edge of their seats when CBS evening news with Walter Cronkite came on each evening because he (ften shocking) showed footage taken the day before. This was taken one day and flown to the US for the evening news the following day. It was the first time a war was brought to America's living room in prime time. The graphic nature of much of the footage was part of what motivated the demonstrations all across America. Our returning soldiers were often treated like they had leprosy and did not receive a hero's welcome when they came home. I was in college and in the military myself during those years (however was never sent to S.E. Asia although I have no idea why not). Jim
