  1. Just a little bit less excited about this chapter. Primarily because I tend to enjoy the inter-brother (and uncle / nephew now I guess) general interactions most and while there seems to have been many brother / uncles present, the interactions were fairly limited. Would have loved to have more detail about how Elliot acted / reacted to the new grandparents, the multitude of brother / uncles and perhaps especially the non-brother / uncle, brother / uncles (blanking on the names, hrm, Mike and Duck?!?!?!). Also, I think I want more Joshie as well as the other uncle / brothers that are in the house and / or live close by. How about a Graham dream about Elliot . I can also see Elliot latching onto and idolizing one of his new uncles, personally, for some reason I imagine Frankie being the one. Still, despite this, I'm just being greedy as I have been lately, I'm really enjoying the story and in fact have no real complaints. Thank you for all your hard work and I look forward to future chapters.
  2. It is nice to know that Elliot has family, biological family that is, at some point most people who don't have that link yearn for the connection. It is even better that said family seems to be so nice. I am assuming that the Currie families next summer vacation may head over the pond. Copenhagen is one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in the world, making it even better is that the people are generally incredibly friendly. While there are other larger, flashier, more well known cities in Europe, personally Copenhagen is #1 on my list of European destinations. Assuming said trip occurs, it should be some great reading.

    A Viking Seaman

Thanks for "today's" chapter of the Next Generation!! I'm really enjoying Elliots personality and his trajectory, we knew when he started getting better that there would have to be a few more bumps but I'm sure that I will enjoy reading a Sammy / Andrew and their grandparents type resolution to this situation. I am wondering if Brandon has the psychological fortitude to be the pop of the reopened castaway hotel, even when he was younger he never seemed to have the strength that Danny and many of the other boys exhibited. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading about how Elliots' relationships with Jesse, Joshie and Andy (is that right, his new friend in school) develop, I do recall especially enjoying the inter-kid relationships (personally less detailed sex scenes would work better for me but then, I'm just a loud member of the gallery) and hope future chapters, post-Scandinavia incident, delve deeper into these areas. As always, thanks for all the hard work and I will eagerly look forward to "tomorrow's" chapter. PS - Favorite character at the moment is Joshie, but selfless little kids are always a joy to read about, I'm sensing a lot of Ricky in him.
  4. WOW, great work, you actually had me giggling out loud. Thanks for this chapter, I'll admit that your superhuman posting schedule has me a bit greedy and checking multiple times per day to see if "today's" chapter has been posted yet. While it has only been a few days since the last chapter, I was starting to feel that it has been FOREVER since the last chapter was posted. You spoil me.
  5. I stopped reading quite a while back (chapter 77), primarily due to the lack of forward momentum and the desire to read the story "in bulk" so that the week to week frustration I was feeling would be limited. Judging, based on a quick skim of the above comments, it seems should I restart my read and catch up now, or should I wait a few more chapters, maybe even wait until the story is concluded. CJames, as I have commented in the past, I really enjoy your stories, however, I reached the conclusion that your stories are better read as complete books not as a chapter by chapter dribble. Thank you for your hard work and I look forward to reading the rest of Circumnavigation because I KNOW that I will enjoy your efforts when I do.
  6. I just figured out what it is. I should probably explain, while I enjoy your writing, I often feel a bit disappointed after reading one of your installments. It didn't make sense, I enjoyed your other stories which I got to read in bulk and the straight up storytelling quality of Circumnavigation seems to be far superior to your previous stories, so despite better writing and what is (at least so far) a better plotted / realistic story, why was I feeling disappointed. This was confusing for me and as a result, I refrained from commenting after each chapter because I didn't want my "disappointment" to show. Well, I got it, I went back and sampled various chapters of your previous stories without re-reading the entire stories, same blah-ish feeling. So I re-read Circumnavigation from chapter 1 right up to the split pea soup with meat pie, I LOVED IT. I think, like most "real" authors, your stories need to be told in their entirety to be the thrilling and interesting stories that they are, stories that have a good start to finish arc with a series of mini-arcs in between, all paced so that the book, as opposed to the chapter holds together as a coherent piece of work. Because of your meticulous attention to detail, as stand alone works, chapters tend to feel like they plod along whether there is any truth to the feeling. Many internet authors because the method of publication demands it, tend to pack excitement into every chapter, which is great when you are reading a chapter here or there but when you try reading the story as a completed piece of work, such stories just don't seem to work as well in many cases. So, I am now going to try to struggle with my reading addiction and hold off on reading Circumnavigation as chapters come out so that I can enjoy the story in its entirety even more when the book completed. Thanks so much for all the work you do, it is truly appreciated.
  7. Posting a chapter a week seems to me, an avid reader but definitely not a writer, to be a Herculean task. Personally I would suggest that you switch to a once every other week (or even a 1st and 3rd Monday of every month or less) posting schedule in order to: 1 - Take at least some of the pressure off yourself and 2 - give you time to create a "buffer" of chapters and so that once you are done with Circumnavigation (hopefully not for 40+ chapters), you will have some leisure time to plan, think about and outline your next story. Thank you for all your hard work and PLEASE stop apologizing for not posting weekly, quite frankly, I have no idea how you do it.
