  1. Hooray for dates! Glad it went well, and here's hoping to many more pleaseant ones in the future
  2. Yeah, this whole thing is why I want to say I would never, ever give blood even if I were a virgin. But that punishes the innocent and does nothing to the guilty The "logic" - and I use that term in the loosest possible sense - behind the retention of this regulation sickens me. I can understand - sort of, to a degree - how it got there in the first place, when much less was known about HIV in general and every precaution was being taken (but the illogic of that is another topic entirely). However in this day and age, whether you are straight or gay or having sex with someone of the same sex or someone of the opposite sex has very little to do with it anymore. In some ways of looking at it, you're almost more at risk of having/transmitting HIV if you're straight simply because it's seen as "The gay disease". Not to mention the other things that can go through a blood transfusion as well. I've considered just lying and saying "no" and getting through the screening anyway (I do know I'm clean (for various reasons which are all off-topic anyway ) so that part isn't actually even an issue...but damn my inability to be so dishonest! O-neg means they should love me even when spare blood ISN'T in huge demand. But whatever, screw The Man *chuckle* Though I have done some volunteer work when the local blood drives ramp up their twice-a-year things, helping people get set up and being comfortable and seeing if they need anything as it goes on or afterward, giving them their juice/cookies or taking names and information and whatnot...so I guess I can't shake the feeling that I'm still helping support their discrimination Also, ever notice that the female-female sex part isn't a lifetime ban? Yeah, let's go back to that "screw you FDA" thing again Anyway, wtg on your donation(s) Kurt! Keep it up while you can I guess
  3. I think it's about time for one of my random drive-bys to GA, huh? So yeah...well, my pic's in my profile but that does kinda kill the resolution so....howzabout this?
  4. Better late than never, right? *hugs* Happy birthday!
  5. Yeah, it's completely awesome how widespread it's gotten; I just linked the "original" and figured I'd let others see all the ones around there. It's pretty damn cool IMO Oh, and Graeme, if it was posted before it became invisible, 'cuz I did a full search of the board with several different phrases to see if it had been and found nothing Oh well, never hurts to repeat it if it WAS around before *HUGS for everybody*
  6. Hehe, well, while your bf looks like he might be pretty cute (that pic's kinda hard to judge but looks like he has potential ) I do have to say that I'll stick with mine, sorry I already know how cute mine is, plus I know him on more than just the physical level too, so yeah Hehehe, thank you Yeah, I almost would, but he doesn't actually know a whole HUGE lot of it himself...still, it would be pretty awesome to randomly surprise him with some someday...*tries to think of way to work that out*
  7. So, as I seem to continually be bringing this up around various locations whenever the mood strikes me, I decided GA would be another good target, especially since I don't seem to see any mention of it around here. Shame on you, Aussies! This started in your backyards! Hehe, anyway, here ya go, enjoy! - Sometimes, a hug is all what we need. Free Hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann, a man whose sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives. In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of the Free Hugs Campaign became phenomenal. As this symbol of human hope spread accross the city, police and officials ordered the Free Hugs Campaign BANNED. What we then witness is the true spirit of humanity coming together in what can only be described as awe-inspiring. In the spirit of the Free Hugs Campaign, PASS THIS TO A FRIEND and HUG A STRANGER! After all, if you can reach just one person... Music by Sick Puppies. (Visit http://sickpuppies.net or http://myspace.com/sickpuppies for the music) *wraps everyone up in a giant, crushing, warm fuzzy happy hug*
  8. Weird music? Not at all, Imogen Heap rocks. I need to get more of her stuff one of these days. I think "Criminal" is the Fiona song that is more appropriate to me *mad giggle* But yeah, I think my song choice would have to be by Sick Puppies. That song is just......awesome. And the video makes me have a big stupid happy smile on my face for hours every time I watch it. But above that, lately my life has come to where those lyrics can be pretty damn appropriate. So that'll be my current choice. Can't say there's really a "constant" or continually-definining song ofr my life, as many others have said of themselves, but if I think of one I'll be sure to update, hehe.
  9. As my new boyo is Vietnamese (and omg so hot besides) I definitely have to second that statement.
  10. Rock on. Continue kicking behinds and not even bothering taking names And 'break a leg' on the "real thing" hehe. I'm sure you'll do just fine.
  11. Well, this isn't really in relation to Kurt's quandry, but it seems he's been well taken care of But I should hopefully be getting the DVD for XMas, at which point I'd be happy to grab that song for you from it, JS. Just remind me or I'll probably forget lol
  12. Happy birthday, Rob! *hug*
  13. CONGRATS guys! *hugs*
  14. Firefox is definitely my browser of choice *gives love to Mozilla/FF teams* Using FF 1.5.8 at the moment, gonna wait a bit for them to do some revisions before I switch to 2.x since the early ones nearly alway still have some kinds of problesm Technically I have IE6 laying around for when I have to use MS Update, but I almost never use it for anything else (save something like the rare page where someone improperly does the coding so that it works in IE's nonstandards setup and breaks in FF, but that's why we have the IETab extension haha). As I refuse to drop Win2K for WinXP I won't be switching to IE7 anytime soon (supposedly it's possible to force IE7 to work on Win2K but why would I want to? It'll just be even more broken ). Plus MS is the devil, pure and simple. Only using AOL would be worse *duck* Hehehe. Seriously though, gotta love the Fox. It will import favorites etc from Internet Explorer, but I have no idea if it will for AOL since I don't have AOL on my computer. Of course, you could download it and try and see if it does, since it should not affect your AOL setup at all. As for email, if you get AIM you can set it so that it will notify you of email on your AOL account so that would be taken care of as well.
  15. Well, a little late, but I hope it was a great one!
  16. Well yeah, and hanging around other gay people makes you gay, just like being around tall people makes you tall. I think they need to realize....the particualr method of sexual action referenced by the term "doggy" and the other type(s) of sexual action referenced by the term "eating" don't refer to either actual animals or cannibalism. Touch
  17. Voted here as well Great video, and kudos to CJ and Tim and their families. I hope we'll get to see CJ's documentary at some point as well.
  18. That last one is a classic. It's actually a commercial for a Nokia video phone First one...meh. That's all I have to say. Meh. Second one is just scary, sheesh.
  19. Dang, I'm in a somewhat light-saturated area. I've noticed the difference between here and ND. Still, I got pretty decent viewings of the last few showers over the previous years, so I'll definitely try to remember to check this one out. Anyone wanna come with and help "keep me warm"?
  20. Hahaha, I love it. Dang, now I want this song, it's gonna be stuck in my head.
  21. Wow. Most impressive. Very cute, as you said And very very good skills with that ukelele. I'm kinda jealous.
  22. Well well, quite an interesting genre to explore there. Perhaps one day I'll get around to reading some of it. In other words, welcome to GA!
  23. I suppose overall I prefer actual bound books. I don't mind comemrcial ones...I'm a careful reader. None of my bindings are ever broken. I once lent a cousin a book and he broke the binding (most of what I have is paperback, hardcover is too expensive ) and after the reaming I gave him he never did it again However as for stories like here...I dislike stacks of paper a great deal, and plus it'd be so MUCH paper with all the stories out there. I actually am starting to like "off the screen, in my hand" *hugs his PDA* Convert to PDF format and upload and then I can read wherever I am. Works great for between classes etc, plus I can carry around dozens of books at a time and it all fits in my hand. Of course, if a book is already in eBook format that helps; if not, it can become a copyright issue, hence why I haven't really done this with anyone's yet...gotta get around to asking some of the authors I want to read if they'd mind such a thing. Heck, I'd be happy to provide them with the coverted documents if they so desired, that way others could benefit from it *shrug* So yeah, that's one of my 'ideal' setups I suppose.
  24. Oh, I knew about the event. My comment about sarcasm was for the comparison between the two events, not toward one or the other's actual happening As I tried to intimate in my other reply, I agree it should have been allowed. If you want free speech, you're going to have to realize that it goes both ways. I have the right to say "Go gay!" just as muhc as the next guy does to say "No gay!" It's when it goes past words that it becomes a problem. Anyway, back on the topic...yeah, what lustful_orca said sounds about right to me
  25. Hooray! Godwin's Law strikes again! I shouldn't even answer this, because the supreme fallacy of the comparison makes it completely irrelevant. There's no comparison at all between the typical GLBT organization and the typical Nazi organization. So I'm hoping that was just sarcasm that I missed But I'll touch on it lightly anyway. If a Nazi group wanted to have a Nazy pride parade in Skokie...ok, fine, let them. But they still have to abide by the laws - no violence, no destruction of property, etc. Other than that, if they want to walk down the street and spew their gibberish...ok. Go right ahead. Nazis are just as opposed to gays as they are to Jews or various other groups, but if I were there it wouldn't bother me none. Besides, never said protestation was disallowed. People can stand at the sides of either of the above types of parade and voice their opinions too.
