  1. Hooray for dates! Glad it went well, and here's hoping to many more pleaseant ones in the future
  2. Yeah, this whole thing is why I want to say I would never, ever give blood even if I were a virgin. But that punishes the innocent and does nothing to the guilty The "logic" - and I use that term in the loosest possible sense - behind the retention of this regulation sickens me. I can understand - sort of, to a degree - how it got there in the first place, when much less was known about HIV in general and every precaution was being taken (but the illogic of that is another topic entirely). However in this day and age, whether you are straight or gay or having sex with someone of the same sex or someone of the opposite sex has very little to do with it anymore. In some ways of looking at it, you're almost more at risk of having/transmitting HIV if you're straight simply because it's seen as "The gay disease". Not to mention the other things that can go through a blood transfusion as well. I've considered just lying and saying "no" and getting through the screening anyway (I do know I'm clean (for various reasons which are all off-topic anyway ) so that part isn't actually even an issue...but damn my inability to be so dishonest! O-neg means they should love me even when spare blood ISN'T in huge demand. But whatever, screw The Man *chuckle* Though I have done some volunteer work when the local blood drives ramp up their twice-a-year things, helping people get set up and being comfortable and seeing if they need anything as it goes on or afterward, giving them their juice/cookies or taking names and information and whatnot...so I guess I can't shake the feeling that I'm still helping support their discrimination Also, ever notice that the female-female sex part isn't a lifetime ban? Yeah, let's go back to that "screw you FDA" thing again Anyway, wtg on your donation(s) Kurt! Keep it up while you can I guess
  3. I think it's about time for one of my random drive-bys to GA, huh? So yeah...well, my pic's in my profile but that does kinda kill the resolution so....howzabout this?
  4. Screen viewing, since I have a crappy printer and evn if I didn't I doubt I'd shell out the cash for really high-quality paper. Popcorn - cheesy, plain, or caramel? ...No, I'm not hungry, why?
  5. IM, most definitely. Sleep and wake early, or sleep and wake late?
  6. Better late than never, right? *hugs* Happy birthday!
  7. Helps to get the URL right, y'know? http://misssnark.blogspot.com/ - hooray for Miss Snark!
  8. *rofl* I love Ali G way more than is probably healthy. We need more of him
  9. Yeah, it's completely awesome how widespread it's gotten; I just linked the "original" and figured I'd let others see all the ones around there. It's pretty damn cool IMO Oh, and Graeme, if it was posted before it became invisible, 'cuz I did a full search of the board with several different phrases to see if it had been and found nothing Oh well, never hurts to repeat it if it WAS around before *HUGS for everybody*
  10. Hehe, well, while your bf looks like he might be pretty cute (that pic's kinda hard to judge but looks like he has potential ) I do have to say that I'll stick with mine, sorry I already know how cute mine is, plus I know him on more than just the physical level too, so yeah Hehehe, thank you Yeah, I almost would, but he doesn't actually know a whole HUGE lot of it himself...still, it would be pretty awesome to randomly surprise him with some someday...*tries to think of way to work that out*
  11. *laugh* That one's also very, very true.
  12. Yay, I get to quote two ....Yeah, pretty much. I wish I could try to rebut either of these....well, moreso the ND one, MS I can care less about Seeing as this is a list of US states, would you really want your state to be on it?
  13. I tend to like blinds a little more, myself. Don't know why Tic Tacs or Certs?
  14. Actually, I'm in a semi-similar situation. There's a few that are on my list, I'm just waiting to here back from them to see if I'm accepted to any of them. Once that part's done the choosing will be a lot easier, lol. The person below me got a care package of cookies from his/her grandmother last weekend and has been pigging out all week Mmm, they're so good. *offers sugar cookies, gingersnaps, and chocolate-covered pretzels*
  15. Oh, man, that's a tough call, depending on my mood. Right now, though I could definitely go for some Honey Nut Cheerios, so let's go with that! Let's continue the theme Honeycomb or Pops
  16. I, too, have read this and found it to be an absolutely wonderful short-story. Sp touching and heartwarming, as mentioned, and it almost reads as something autobiographical (though the author has denied this, so it just goes to show that the guy's got some talent ). Definitely recommended 100%, go check it out!
  17. I, too, must add my applause for this story. I think I'm going to have to say it's my favorite out of the anthology (hehe), though I still have one or two left to read...but yeah, it's a definite winner, haha. I love your use of anachronisms, and the references for naming your characters was a nice little bit of extra information. As many others have pointed out, some great use of wit and humor in this story, and I'm not sure I can really add anything extra to what they have stated. I also must applaud how closely your work tends to flow along the same as a "real" fairy tale does - so more kudos there (the continual use of the phrase "seven boys, gay boys" was an extra touch of class, btw). I'm trying to choose a favorite line from this to end with, but I'm not sure I can pick just one. That's a sign of a job well done, though!
  18. So, as I seem to continually be bringing this up around various locations whenever the mood strikes me, I decided GA would be another good target, especially since I don't seem to see any mention of it around here. Shame on you, Aussies! This started in your backyards! Hehe, anyway, here ya go, enjoy! - Sometimes, a hug is all what we need. Free Hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann, a man whose sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives. In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of the Free Hugs Campaign became phenomenal. As this symbol of human hope spread accross the city, police and officials ordered the Free Hugs Campaign BANNED. What we then witness is the true spirit of humanity coming together in what can only be described as awe-inspiring. In the spirit of the Free Hugs Campaign, PASS THIS TO A FRIEND and HUG A STRANGER! After all, if you can reach just one person... Music by Sick Puppies. (Visit http://sickpuppies.net or http://myspace.com/sickpuppies for the music) *wraps everyone up in a giant, crushing, warm fuzzy happy hug*
  19. Weird music? Not at all, Imogen Heap rocks. I need to get more of her stuff one of these days. I think "Criminal" is the Fiona song that is more appropriate to me *mad giggle* But yeah, I think my song choice would have to be by Sick Puppies. That song is just......awesome. And the video makes me have a big stupid happy smile on my face for hours every time I watch it. But above that, lately my life has come to where those lyrics can be pretty damn appropriate. So that'll be my current choice. Can't say there's really a "constant" or continually-definining song ofr my life, as many others have said of themselves, but if I think of one I'll be sure to update, hehe.
  20. Sometimes I could wish that, but there's just too much that always seems to be going on. The person below me has been away from here for a while but figured it was about time to come back. Yes, you haven't gotten rid of me that easily
  21. As my new boyo is Vietnamese (and omg so hot besides) I definitely have to second that statement.
  22. Definitely a classic here, seen some of these before and some were new, so thanks for it Wish I could remember some of the others I've seen that weren't on here
  23. Rock on. Continue kicking behinds and not even bothering taking names And 'break a leg' on the "real thing" hehe. I'm sure you'll do just fine.
  24. Usually I already do, but when I don't I wish I could Do you ever wish you could just make them all go away?
  25. This one does seem kinda fun. Steven, I'm going to guess #1 is your lie. As for myself.....damn, gonna be tough to come up with three things 1. I've attended nine schools in my life. 2. I've fallen in love with a girl before. 2. I have secret aspirations to be the first man on Mars.
