Whales again.....whales keep coming up in conversations about the ending of this story.....not directly but references to things regarding whales.....how do whales react to the approach of hurricanes??

I've been trying to figure out the riddle of CJ's chapter titles. This one is "From Hell's HEart". So, what do we know: 1. Use of the word 'from' in conjuction with Hell's HEart. It means something was in Hell's Heart and now it isn't at some point. I think we understand that the hurricane has been referred to here before as "hell" and the heart would refer to the core or eye....which is where they were at the conclusion of the last chapter 2. Why is HE in HEart capitalized, or does that mean we are emphasizing a male character, and why the use of the word heart. Does this cast focus on Shane?? Does Shane live. It could have just been that CJ held down the shift key too long. 3. The least likely to die at this point would be Joel and Lisa because they have no injuries of note. 4. Worries about Trevor have to do with blood loss and his pig headedly stubborn resistance to let go of a boat (tub) 5. Worries about Shane have to do with the effects of electrocution. 6. What good can come out of becoming out of the heart of the storm from their present position?

I'm sure it's a cliff, which is most assuredly why CJ would never include the word "aardvark" in a chapter in this 'novel' because he absolutely does (not) use cliffs or come anywhere near them.

Is that a cliff just beyond the Aardvark?? What were you saying is missing??

CJ, don't sweat it. I complain all the time about having to wait, but I'm not mad at you.....and I completely understand that writing 20,000 plus words takes a minute or two (I'm using goat timing, no rationale to it at all, quite easy to understand once you determine there's nothing to understand.....just say something and call it timing and using goat timing that is 100% accurate and totally useless, unless you use it in December after the 31st of December...then it's useful.......for something.......I'm sure......but I should probably ask an aardvark).

You know what is kinda sad about where we are here that no one has mentioned? This forum has become something of a family with the same members posting over time and I'm feeling like I've known some of you for quite a long time. When the story ends that will all change as people come and go.....so this will be something I know I will miss. It is good to have met and chatted with so many of you for quite a while and I'll miss this weekly chatting!

no biggie.....we all just get anxious.....even Dark, though he is SOOO patient. the chapters are getting longer......guess the epilogue is 57 pages ....anyway....interesting conversation with benjy on how many readers there are on the team......so does that last thing with naming names on who got what and when mean there are only 5 on the team? An/tic/i/pa/tion.........an/ti/cipat ya shun, it's......making me wait...........making me cra/a/zy me wonders.....how many people will reread this story when it is done. just thinking for a second I remember so many details so long ago it seems.....fallen into forgetfulness....

they aren't going to die....I never would have started reading the story if I had thought the author was going to kill off all my favorite characters. This is obviously very hardcore and unarguable logic, so don't try to convince me that I'm wrong. Furthermore, what's the point of an epilogue in any other case?? They'll make their break before they get to Me Hee Co

That's right, Kookaburra is Aries. I got confused. I didn't remember where they were going, but now that you mention it....that would be a place they would be staying in, no reason to follow Atlantis. So, those points are cleared up, thanks Low Flyer. Now on to the rest. What could our 4 heroes do to save themselves?? I'd say we have a week or more to figure it out. Any ideas?? I was thinking about that movie, Life of Pi, where the boy tied a makeshift "raft" off to the boat the tiger was in until he could "make peace" with the tiger. If they can't survive jumping in and riding it out on Atlantis would get them killed, is there any way they could use parts of Atlantis to save themselves? I would think in the worst conditions of a hurricane the worry is all the debris in the water. That's a danger that makes being in the water a high risk...so if you found something to use that's less dangerous than being on Atlantis as she's torn apart you'd need that something to also be able to protect you from debris. Then there's always the question of how to get Trevor to leave the boat to begin with

We can toss this comment by CJ around to give us something to do. Before the last chapter, I made a comment about having an idea about what was going to happen. I wouldn't spill it because I had no idea when next chapter was coming out and just thought my comments might spur some changes to keep us guessing and I didn't want that.... but anyway, apparently I made CJ curious:) because he asked me about it, but he also gave this little nugget to chew on, he said: "I can say this, whatever help they get will come from the crew of Atlantis" Now the boat they are on is Atlantis/Kookaburra. Right? We have said nothing about the other boat in a while. Could the other boat be close enough to play so part and what could they possibly do?? That thought doesn't seem fitting. So, then it's back to the boat with our four heroes, two of whom are injured with potentially life threatening conditions, They don't have the zodiac....no way to get off Atlantis other than to just jump in. Sharks aren't an issue until after the storm, but they'll be there quickly at that time. My idea, alluded to earlier, had been that maybe they'll pass close enough to land the storm throws them on shore, but that's kinda been shot down, the land they pass is on the wrong side....so the only other potential "landfall" is to ride into Mexico landfall. That's a crazy option, very slim chances of living. What could they possibly do with what they have to keep them alive? There has to be some creative use of the resources on hand that will save them. Any thoughts?? Remember, last time it was that little silver cannister thingy.....the most insignificant things

Well....new chapter, the final chapter and it's accompanying epilogue should be here very soon. Maybe in the next couple of days?? There hasn't been much chatter since the last chapter. i think we chatted ourselves out on that one. But I'm sure everyone is getting anxious again.....I know I am. So, I was looking around as usual, for any little nugget of information that might spur a string of intuition into the future of this story and I came across something that CJ said to me in reply to a comment I made prior to the release of the last chapter, I think it was. He said, and I'm paraphrasing: "I can tell you this, whatever help they get will come from the crew of Atlantis" So, this should give us a little something to talk about until the final words sail in.

I think this is going to be a "whale" of a conclusion!!

Thanks CJ. Another well written chapter!! Pretty intense. I think it's amazing that you can take a story to the edge of reality and balance it on the precipice. You have an awesome talent........taller than a 30 foot wave!!

yea......cliffhanger free.....kinda like the eye of the hurricane is free of ANY winds.... quite a predicament to be in, they are. I wonder.........there is this little thing that could happen, it wouldn't get you 'out' of something but something may put you where you want to be.....and good ol' Frank Tittle.......I like the way he thinks!!!

Whew.....well, CJ was true to his word....a little less tense thingy at the end!!! I do see a solution, I do. Only one completely insane would try such a thing but...(oh, yea.....we're talking about Trevor!).....

I have a new theory. CJ needed some time to work on the 2nd half of the split, so he delayed ANOTHER week on the 1st half of the split and HOW MANY DAYS OLD IS DECEMBER NOW???!!!!
