A wyvern is basically a dragon but with four limbs instead of six; in fantasy when they are considered distinct from dragons, they are usually smaller or weaker in comparison. Sometimes they have a breath attack, sometimes they don't. It all depends on how the artist is depicting their lore.

Ah, I'm sorry to disappoint but it's still a work in progress. Updates will hopefully be steady though, so don't forget to follow and stay tuned Mrs Sterling certainly seems to be much more devious than her appearance! Just what is she up to, hmm?

Awesome, thanks for reading. I'm glad you're finding it to your liking! I do love a good cliff hanger and employ them liberally throughout my writing. The power of suspense can have a lot of impact if employed strategically. I will be updating Spirit of Fire as quickly as I can write and have it beta'd. Typically this will translate to somewhere between two and three weeks. This time may stretch a bit in the later part of the plot, but hopefully not by too much.

Interesting theory about Theo there. Maybe there's a sliver of truth to that, perhaps? How much is acting and how much isn't? What exactly did Darren do when he touched that sapphire? And yes -- the dragon is most definitely out of the shed. That could become a new metaphor, couldn't it? Like 'the cat's out of the bag' only on a bigger scale ... and with fire.

Mrs Figg, huh? Curious comparison to make -- very interesting! Lucy's resistance to mental compulsion is natural; she has an inbuilt ability and also is simply strong-willed. Not every hard-headed stubborn individual would be able to do what she has done through just plain old strength of mind though, and it would also depend on who is attempting to compel them. Some are just garden-variety persuasive, whilst some are scarily irresistible.

Yep, certainly is a danger to leave a pyromaniac around a pile of kindling, but Torsten is low on options about what to do with it. As for 'just how big is this thing gonna get?' -- to this I can say: even as an adolescent, it will be large. As a fully grown adult, very large. It is 100% not something that can be hidden in suburbia, but, well ... this won't end up being a problem. At least, not in the way you might be expecting.
