Well, it's all a matter of opinion how fitting the ending of the book is. All I can promise is that it probably won't be quite what you expect.

There is no shortage of combat in the last few chapters, I can assure you. Konstantin is not only physically large, but quite capable of winning a brawl if need be. He may not particularly enjoy conflict, but he is not someone to be messed with -- far from it.

What happened to Lily was always intended as a kind of sucker-punch. Though, in some ways kinder than the fate that may have happened in the ruins of Aspira.

Thank you. Mira's scenes allowed for the greatest creativity with language, though there are some parts I retrospectively dislike. When I can go back and clean up those areas, I will be happier with the overall feel of it.

If this was a role-playing game, he'd have a fair few skill points invested in 'Sneak'.

It's just a kiss. He was curious and one thing led to another. He knows what he wants though, and is in some ways more self-aware than Shay.

Well, he is trying to find his parents, but he is unusually smart for his age, beyond his years. There is still a great deal for him to understand and come to terms with yet.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words, it's a thrill to be recognised. Honestly, you should see the big stack of paper, not to mention the folder on my PC -- the amount of development is a bit silly; some days I'm not sure why I got myself into this. Character development is important. No-one sees what some of the characters have seen without it changing them, or simply revealing what type of person they are. Though, I was thinking I had given Shay enough bits of fluff to keep him going! Are more sexy-times needed? Mira certainly would not complain. Hmmmmmmm.

Well, it's possible Mira won't want to stop him! The arbiters are nobody's friend. The owner of the voice that commumicated with Shay on Berchande we are already quite familiar with, though Shay has yet to meet him. The real question is: what was it that 'possessed' him? Where are these alien feelings and deja vu coming from? More to come on this! Glad you're enjoying it.
