  1. For me, definitely worth it! Even though the degree I get and the paper it comes on will probably be worthless to me, the opportunities I received definitely taught me more than I could learn if I weren't here.
  2. There's so much data about you online that with just a little bit of digging, most people can be locatable/identified. Facebook simply makes it easier. For me though, being in tech-focused University and all, not having Facebook = not existing. I think being contactable/"connectable" wins over the privacy concerns.

    Chapter 1

Thanks Dave for the advice! I really appreciate it!
  4. One part of me thinks the bleeping out of the word is not a big deal - it is done for so many songs and many song also have tamer "radio edits" (for example, Cee-Lo's Forget You). The other part of me though is trying to draw parallels to the situation with Huckleberry Finn and how context fits in the situation. In the end, for me I think this is not as big of an issue as censorship in Huckleberry Finn. Partially because I find it hard to really derive meaning from a song that goes for maybe 5 minutes without really looking up the lyrics and analyzing the song. The word would simply jump out at me and will become one of the main things I take away from it. One of the side problems with this issue is that a lot of the people I know are misconstruing it and thinking that the entire song is now banned from Canadian radio because a member of the queer community got offended. The queer community is now being portrayed as bullies leading the "I'm offended so you can't say things" drive. That honestly bothers me way more than the discussion about censorship

    Dancing

Kameron is about to start the last dance in his Contemporary Dance class. How will he deal with his dance partner, Michael?

    Chapter 1

This was it. My last dance in this class. The last thing I do before I leave this school. And the last thing I will do with Michael. --- I had chosen Contemporary Dance as an elective on a whim. It didn’t make sense to me at that time, and still doesn’t make sense. Why would an aspiring investment banker take a class in dancing? Still, it seemed like an easy credit. I was worried at the start of the term when Professor Deenerman told us that we had to dance in pairs for the entire semes
  11. I'm a Grey's fan, but I don't keep up with Private Practice... Calzona makes me sad I think Arizona did make the right decision in leaving Callie behind. But I also think that Callie is right in rejecting Arizona when she just shows up randomly again... They both dug this hole that just hurt each other, which makes me sad. Oh Grey's angst. Overall, I think they are cute together, but I feel like Mark and Callie have better chemistry. It's such an awkward relationship with the 3 of them......
  12. That's my biggest mistake too. I'm still trying to learn from it. Woah - awkward all around.
  13. April - Aries! I'm definitely the rash and impulsive one
  14. I would totally do it. I get the privacy concerns, but then again, how much of our current lives are private? With stuff like Facebook and reverse address searches and random information databases, you can find tons of stuff about people everywhere. And it'll make life so much easier when I don't have to carry tons of cards around with me and worry about losing/replacing them!
  15. Hello! I'm new here as well. I've been lurking for about 2 or 3 weeks, and in that time, consumed a ridiculous amount of stories. I've just moved on to reading the forums in the past couple days, and realised I'm joining at an interesting time... I definitely see some interesting people around here, so I hope that someday I'll get to know some of you Also, I hope to be able to actually finish writing a story and post it instead of having 4 stories half written and stewing. I spent a little bit of time writing a little bit more about myself, but I'll save you all the pain of reading my random musings on here. If you're interested, you can go read it on my profile - Hay
