  1. “So, we do we get to meet him?” Luis, who’d been having a quiet breakfast with his family, looked suddenly cornered by his mothers’ question. “What?” He asked. Sophia Barraza cut a glance at her husband, who just nodded slightly. Sophia turned back to Luis. “When do we get to meet your new boyfriend?” Luis started to stammer. “Uh -” “Yeah, c’mon Luis,” piped up Angela from the other side of the table. “Tell us about him!” Luis looked shifty. “What makes you think I have a boyfriend?”
  2. “You’re so young.” The words echoed around and around in Luis’ head. And it wasn’t just the words; it was the tone of voice. Not condescending. He could have fought against that. No, the words had been spoken in sadness, near despair. Like there was nothing that could be done. “You’re so young.” Argh! Luis lay in Davis’ bed, Davis curled up beside him, asleep. He thought about the evening; it had been a great evening. They’d gone to the movie, and the movie had been pretty good. A d
  3. Yes! That was it! Thank you so much! I've already re-read it, definitely worth the time. Thank you (And Viv).
  4. It was just a one-night-stand. Wasn't it?
  5. March 8th. One year. If Davis drank, He’d be getting drunk. One year since Rob had left. As relationships go, it had been okay. Comfortable. It had certainly gone on long enough - they’d been together for more than ten years. But in the end, comfortable hadn’t been enough; He, himself, hadn’t been enough.... Stop it. Davis shook his head at himself, and took another drink of soda. He was sitting in a little diner not far from his apartment. Of course, nothing was very far from the
  6. This was a great story - very much in the style and precepts of Pern. Thank you so much!
  7. Please tell me that there will be one more story in the "It Was A..." series. The whole series has been very cool, I've really enjoyed it. It's been really neat the way the same series of events are depicted from different viewpoints. Now it's just crying out for a story that follow's Puck's experiences! It's clear that he makes it back to Anarix, but how? ARGH! And then what? Thanking you in advance... Scott
  8. Okay, so I read this a couple years ago, and I'm not sure where it was. I think it was on Nifty, and it may have been listed on 'BestOfNifty,' but I'm not sure. It may also have been on here. The story was complete, and it's one of my favorites. It starts at a school Prom - I think it was the Halloween dance. The protagonist is a Senior (maybe a Junior) and he's the Big Man on Campus. Popular, handsome, yadda yadda. The dance is held as a masque; everyone is in formal attire and wearing masks. Partway through the dance Our Hero is approached by another boy for a dance, which he grants. The other boy then disappears and Our Hero spends weeks trying to figure out who it was, as Our Hero is gay and interested. Anyway - it's a great story, very romantic, and I'd like to read it again. I think one of the main character's names was Stephen, but I may be wrong about that. Any help is (of course) much appreciated... Scott
  9. I recently found "Yankee" and enjoyed it immensely. Well written, characters with real weaknesses, it was really great stuff. But it looks like TheZot has disappeared?

    Chapter 13

This story is complete. The remaining three chapters can be found on the Nifty Archive. Just google for "site:nifty.org yankee" The ending is worth the read, even if it doesn't go the way you might predict...
  11. Thank you, Cia! Hypnotic was great, and I've really enjoyed all the Carthera series.

    Chapter 39

Good story, well written, fun to read! A bit predictable, perhaps, but sometimes the point is the journey, not the destination. I've read a fair bit of Andr0gene, and enjoyed all of it so far.. Thank you, for the time and effort, and for the great story!

    Escaping the Pain

Great story, thank you! Engaging characters, believable backstory, great 'first meeting' scene and wonderful 'coming together' scene. I did think some of the foreshadowing was a big heavy in places, but otherwise well-writen and a very enjoyable story. Thank you!
