    Mistake?
I've been around GA for 14 years in one form or another. I've read many great stories by amazing authors who could very well be published and earning money for their talent. Yet, they are here on GA offering their works to all of us for free.
Since I was able to spend more time on this site. This past year gave me to urge to write again after reading more amazing stories. I was inspired by the many awesome authors. However, being inspired doesn't mean one has the talent to actually accomplish your quest. I have come to realize that I do not possess the knowledge or educational background to make my stories interesting enough to make this endeavor worth the frustration I may cause anyone who attempts to help me.
I always have different scenarios about many situations running through my head. Perhaps they are better off staying there. Maybe I should have more sex in my stories. I was once told I was a brilliant cyberer. Whatever that meant. Maybe I should just stop and give-up? Trials and Tribulations was enough of a success to win an award. Maybe like Don Mclean's American Pie, it was a one hit wonder, not saying the quality of the two compares.
I'm at a lost seeing how few people have even looked at my work. I think that maybe that's my answer.

    Thoughts
Gay Authors have had and continue to have some amazing authors. I like to pay tribute to a couple no longer with us, at least as far as I know.
Comicfan was a knowledgeable writer and mentor.  He was also an incredible human being. I miss interacting with Wayne. He was very insightful and helpful.  I also miss his storytelling. He had the ability to bring his characters alive. Another author who will be missed by many, many people is Comicality.  He had the talent to put the reader into the characters mindset, bringing the scenes alive in full living color. Be sure to take a look at their stories, you won't regret it.
We'll not be enfolded by their artful storytelling again,  except for a few time release chapters. However,  as I mentioned before,  they're still some amazing authors turning out awesome stories to be read here on Gay Authors.  Please let these authors know how much you enjoy their talent and look forward for more.

President Bartlet: Good. I like your show. I like how you call homosexuality an abomination.
Dr. Jenna Jacobs: I don’t say homosexuality is an abomination, Mr. President. The Bible does.
President Bartlet: Yes, it does. Leviticus.
    Dr. Jenna Jacobs: 18:22.
President Bartlet: Chapter and verse. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I had you here. I’m interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She’s a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be?
While thinking about that, can I ask another? My Chief of Staff Leo McGarry insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or is it okay to call the police?
Here’s one that’s really important ’cause we’ve got a lot of sports fans in this town: Touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point?
Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side?
Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?

What Bartlet says in this TV show, is indeed chapter and verse. Further, the point he is making is a very valid point. A point I too hold. For whatever reason, that was the law, but then the law was fulfilled.

I once prayed for God to let me know if being gay, active or inactive, was a sin. A three word verse came to me as my answer.

    God is love.

    Peace

I found a cute story today called "Paper Walls", by KD, a new author here at GA. The story was first post back in early fall, but it just caught my eye today. I read the first 11 posted chapters and I fell in love with it. It centers around a fifteen year old adopted football prodigy from Russia whose adopted dad is a coaching legend of Texas High Football, himself. KD does an awesome job of bringing his characters alive and leaves you wanting more. If fact, the chapters could be longer, but KD doesn't short change you in the content department.

I don't do this too often, but I highly recommend this story to all.

I've begun work on a new story, a Sci-Fi/Fantasy story. I won't begin posting until it's completed, beta read, and edited. Word of caution, it could take a while. In the mean time, I will continue to develop The Field of Love and at some point, merge it into Trials and Tribulations.

    I hope I don't disappoint.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Chris?

And someone has now answered my question. So I have a few things to say.

Chris is someone I met, what is now, years ago. He has a strong mid-western stubbornness, but also a heart that allows him to bend a little from his held beliefs. He is a contradiction of beliefs, but that was because of his bending for his heart. He is a human being first, before anything else. He isn't much for labels and that quickly gained my respect, since I don't believe in labels or sub-grouping people either.

Chris is smart, much smarter than his cornfield look. He's smart enough to skip college and go directly to work in a highly competitive field. I questioned his decision not to attend college, but I came to understand he is one that didn't need college. He is also very self-assured; which can come off as cocky. Nor does he suffer fools lightly. I think I'm at fault for making him more out-spoken and sharing his opinions widely.

He has left GA, I think on his own accord. I know he felt like he wasn't wanted around by some and he can be blunt, but I never felt it was ever meant to be mean, unless he was attacked.

As a member of GA, he was my security blanket. Actually, I love him and will miss his happy status and quotes.

    I love my Christopher

One final note. Yes, Chris could be difficult to deal with at times, but the pluses way outweighed the negatives.

You can only have one Mother

    Patient, Kind, and True.

No other friend in all the world

will be the same to you.

    When other friends forsake you,

    to Mother you will return.

As we look upon her picture,

    Sweet memories we recall.

Of a face so full of sunshine

and a smile for one and all.

    Sweet Jesus, take this message,

to our dear Mother up above.

Tell her how we miss her

and give her all our love.

We can shed tears that she is gone

or we can smile because she has lived.

We can close our eyes and pray that she'll come back

or we can open our eyes and see all she left.

Our hearts can be empty because we can't see her

or we can be happy for tomorrow, because of yesterday.

We can remember her only that she's gone

or we can cherish her memory and let it live on.

We can cry and close our minds, be empty, and turn our backs

or we can do what she'd want.

    Smile

    Open our eyes

    Love

    And go on.

In case you missed it, Book 1 of Trials and Tribulations has concluded.

I've had a lot of support and well wishes through-out my endeavor to write this story, and I thank each of you for your part in making this story possible. I do not claim to be a writer with a lot of skill or professional training, but when I write, I try to pour my feelings into each and every scene. I can only do that with the continued encouragement from all of you.

I guess the main way readers can show that is through the "LIKE" and "REVIEW" options available to all members of Gay Authors. It has been those likes and reviews that helped pushed me through the hard times that life has thrown at me. Perhaps it's the hard times is what gives writers the ability to write those emotional scenes, much like a blues musician.

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for your support.

    Love,
    Billy

Judge jails Kentucky clerk for refusing marriage licenses

ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) -- A defiant county clerk was sent to jail for contempt Thursday after insisting that her "conscience will not allow" her to follow a federal judge's orders to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.

"God's moral law conflicts with my job duties," Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis told U.S. District Judge David Bunning. "You can't be separated from something that's in your heart and in your soul."

The judge said she left him with no alternative but to jail her, since fines alone would not change her mind. A deputy escorted her out of the courtroom, although not in handcuffs, to be turned over to the custody of federal marshals.

"Her good faith belief is simply not a viable defense," Bunning said, noting that allowing an individual's beliefs to supersede the court's authority would set a dangerous precedent.

"I myself have genuinely held religious beliefs," the judge said, but "I took an oath."
"Mrs. Davis took an oath," he added. "Oaths mean things."

Hundreds of people chanted and screamed, "Love won! Love won!" as word reached the dueling crowds outside.

The judgealso told all five of the clerk's deputies, including her son, Nathan Davis, that they are free to issue licenses to all applicants while Davis is held in contempt, but would also face fines or jail if they refuse to comply. He told them to meet with lawyers briefly and consider their fates before returning to his courtroom later Thursday to reveal their decisions.

A lawyer for Davis, whose defense is funded by the Liberty Counsel, a religious freedom group, argued that the deputy clerks cannot issue licenses against Davis' authority, but the judge overruled this objection.
Before she was led away, Davis told the judge that she can't comply with the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling legalizing gay marriage nationwide, because it conflicts with the vows she made when she became a born-again Christian.

"I promised to love Him with all my heart, mind and soul because I wanted to make heaven my home," Davis said during about 20 minutes of emotional testimony. She described how she became a Christian and said she is unable to believe anything else.

April Miller, who was denied a license four times at the clerk's office, also testified. She said she voted for Kim Davis last year and that she has no desire to change the clerk's personal beliefs.

Outside, demonstrators shouted at each other, sang hymns and waved signs, which ranged from the violent - turn to Jesus or burn - to simple statements of support. A small plane flew over the courthouse, carrying a banner that said: "Stand Firm Kim."

Davis stopped issuing licenses to all couples in June after the Supreme Court ruling. She's lost at every federal court level since then, but continues to turn couples away.

"I have no animosity toward anyone and harbor no ill will," said Davis, an Apostolic Christian, in a statement this week. "To me this has never been a gay or lesbian issue. It is about marriage and God's word."
Her critics mock this moral stand, noting that Davis is on her fourth marriage.

Davis served as her mother's deputy in the clerk's office for 27 years before she was elected as a Democrat to succeed her mother in November. As an elected official, she can be removed only if the Legislature impeaches her, which is unlikely in a deeply conservative state.

Judge Bunning is the son of Jim Bunning, the Hall of Fame pitcher for the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies who served two terms as Kentucky's junior U.S. Senator. Former Republican President George W. Bush nominated David Bunning for a lifetime position as a federal judge in 2001 when he was just 35 years old, halfway through his dad's first term in the Senate.

But Bunning has been anything but a sure thing for conservative causes, ruling in 2007 to overturn a partial-birth abortion ban, and in 2003 to allow a Gay-Straight Alliance to meet on their high school campus.

I've started a new story, 'The Field of Love'. My plan is to post a new chapter once a week. It's a story about a fifteen year old boy finding acceptance and love on a baseball field. I've started a forum for the story and I hope you will leave a review on the story so I can learn from you, the reader. It's my intention to give you the best story I can.

Below is the links to the proper forum.

    Hiya everyone!

As you may know, I've had a rough couple of years, especially the last one. Due to some of the experiences I've had recently, I am hopelessly stuck on the next scene for Trials and Tribulations. I will at some time be able to get through it and complete the story, but for now, I have another idea.

I've started a new story, untitled at the moment, but it will involve teenagers meeting head on some serious adult level events that affect this earth and other places as well.

Once I have a good head start into the story, I will be seeking beta readers and editors. However, I won't start posting the story until it is finished, beta read, and edited. That way, there will be no delays. Perhaps by that time GA will be operating under the new system and I can up-load every chapter at once to post weekly. Then, even if my computer has problems or I myself have problems, the story will continue to post, no matter what.

I hope everyone had an awesome Holiday and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

This time of year can be filled with joy, excitement, happiness, and what some would call, miracles; but also, dread, loneliness, stress, and depression can be found as well.

Don't be so quick to brush off rudeness or an uncaring attitude. Perhaps with a smile, offer an ear to bend, and be the person someone can lean on, you could help bring a miracle into a person's life. Be a candle in the darkness!

    Merry Christmas

The following video by Clayton Jennings is not a pro-gay film; however it does point out the hypocrisy of many self-described "religious" people.

    Dear GA

I have come to a conclusion that is based on actions and non-actions over the last several months. What social life I may have had here on GA has come or is coming to an end. I will meet my obligations to the authors I work with and to my readers. However, that will in all likelihood will be the extent to my involvement with anyone here, with the exception to answer all e-mails and comments made on Trials and Tribulations.

There are those here that I love and miss, but even being here I still love and miss them. So what's the point? Therefore, I'm moving in this direction with a sad heart, but it appears to be time to turn the page and make the next chapter in my life.

    Peace out.

When I posted the last chapter in this story, my life was up-side-down. For years my mother and father had sacrificed a lot, both time and money, to make sure my life was as comfortable as possible for a kid with leukemia. The weekend before this past Christmas, my mother fell down those same stairs I had and broke both of her arms. As bad as this was, especially around the holidays, we thought that was it and we could help her get through the holidays and broken arms without much problems. That wasn't to be. The accident lead to the doctors discovering major problems. It was a downward spiral for my family. I lost my mom on June 6th. Ever since, I've been mostly wandering around in a fog.

I feel like I've made a major break-through and I no longer feel lost and alone. I've been thinking about T&T the last few days. Back in January, I felt like I couldn't close book 1 of T&T the way I had wanted to, so to keep from leaving people hanging and not finishing the story, I kind of ended it where it was. However, I left too many unanswered questions.

Therefore, it is my intention to at least write one or two more chapters to cleanly close out this part of Andy, Joey, and Roger's lives.

I look forward to reading your replies and comments.

I'm looking for advice here. I'm in the market for either a new pc or laptop. Money isn't the over-all issue. I want a device that has windows 8.1, i5 or i7 chip, 8-16 gb of ram, 500 gb-1 tb hard drive, that comes with whatever is the best word processor. Where would be the best place to look, the manufacturer or a dealer? And which would be better, a pc or laptop?

I have decided to end Trials and Tribulations Book 1 The Beginning with chapter 26, Family. I will be taking some time off and then begin the second book, yet to be named.

Thank you everyone that ever wrote me, commented on a chapter, and/or left a review. I never expected to have a story of mine to be so well received by so many of you. I truly look forward to writing again on this and other stories.

It will take some time to gather together a team to edit and beta for me, but most importantly, it will take a little time for me to have the drive again to write, after recent dramatic events in my personal life.

I wish one and all the best and look forward to establishing the writer/reader relationship again.

    Peace out

Hi everyone! I hope you all are well and having an awesome day.

Those of you that know me will attest that I am a man of many opinions and not shy about sharing them. However, the recent past finds me trying to be more selective in my trips to the soap box to render a diatribe. I believe I have been somewhat successful in this endeavor, at least until now.

I have never been accused of being a gay activist and I don't think of myself as one now, either. What has happened now to change my passive attitude you may ask, quite simply, I'm fed up.

I'm sick and tired of some in Church Leadership blaming the woes and the decay of America only on the GLBT community. I readily submit that every element of society has bad apples. People none of us would bring home to meet our families or our dogs, for that matter, includes some members of the GLBT community. But I can not subscribe to the Church party line on this subject.

I understand the reasoning behind the pulpit assassination attempts on the GLBT community- it's a easy minority to sling hate at without repercussion from the thither, not yet, anyways. I'm hopeful that that will change.

It's really a shame that pastors will target the GLBT community as the cause of so many problems that we face. While there are liars, cheats, thieves, murderers, back stabbers, and idolaters that fills their pews every service. I'm not saying that there aren't real Christians who leads Christ-like lives that attends those same services; because I believe there are. What I am saying is that those disgraceful preachers are allowing their need for dollars over-shadow their calling of God's love.

You see, I believe that God is the God of love. He created us to have someone to love him as He loves us. He gave all of us free will so we can return his love. For without free will, there can't be love.

I won't go into the the verses from the Bible that are thrown about against gays, nor will I answer them with the responses that most people are now familiar with. I think most sane thinking people understands that one must consider the context and the times that the writers of what we call the Bible, lived. I've been taught, as I think most have, that the books in the Bible were inspired by God, not dictated. Therefore, the writers' life experiences and the intellectual thinking of the times influenced what they wrote.

For an example, in the New Testament, Paul speaks out about a man laying down with another man like with a women, as being wrong. What you aren't told is that the Great Greek intellectual thinking of the times, which was widely accepted, was that any sex whose purpose wasn't for procreation was animalistic and beneath us as human beings. Paul, being raised Greek, was well aware of this point of view and was clearly influenced by it, as evidenced by some of his other thoughts.

To me what is important is what each writer in the New Testament all agree on, God is Love, God sent His Son to us, and Jesus did willingly suffer and died for us all. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. What I do know is if every Shepherd of his flock stuck to this theme, this world would be a lot better off. Jesus left two(2) commandments, and both dealt with LOVE. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself. As I see it, if God IS love, and I believe he is, and I love another man, there can be nothing wrong with that love, for God is love. I must be clear on this point, I do mean love, not lust. However, even in stating that, I must say that this is just my opinion.

In those two commandments hang the ten. I believe gays(GLBT) can be good Christians and go to Heaven. When I think of the preachers that preach hate and damnation (not all of them do and in fact probably most don't) I'm reminded of Matthew chapter 7, verses 15-27.

I'm sorry, but this is something I needed to get off my chest. I hope I haven't offended anyone, but I do hope I have caused some enlightenment and provoked some thought.

It's been five days since her passing and I have yet to have a heavy cry. I know it's in me, but for some reason I'm holding it back. Everywhere I look I see something that remains me of her. Some memory of the past. I keep expecting to hear her voice or see her walking down the hall. But all there is is silence. The house seems so empty now, even when dad is here. Friends stop by, but there's little comfort in their visits. I miss my mom and best friend.

I don't believe I've done this before but, Let the Music Play by C James is a book written on the talent level of Tom Clancy, back when he wrote his books.

I highly recommend this book to any who loves a good thriller with gay characters and written in a non-porn way.
