  1. Maybe a bit of both.
  2. It's a steep learning curve for Robbie, but at least he has an ally now and a kind of younger mentor
  3. Robbie and Nathan work well together.
  4. He probably thinks Nathan's worth it.

    Chapter 31 Guilt

The alternative is to listen to someone with experience who can advise him, but there is no one with those qualities for him to turn to, and he's still living in the closet.
  6. Drug abuse is never good, and like most people, Robbie has failed to recognise the danger.
  7. He's confused about his feelings, but he should follow his instincts.
  8. Robbie's caught in a downward spiral. He absolutely needs counselling.
  9. You're right. Peer pressure played a big part in Robbie's relationship with Fran. Thanks for your comment.
  10. This is where it starts to get complicated. Thank you for persevering.
  11. The 'Ordinary Magic' storyline seems vaguely familiar, but I swear I have never seen or heard of it until now. I will watch with interest. A lot of good movies have come from Canada and many famous actors/comedians who a lot of people assume are American. John Candy, Leslie Nielson, Jim Carrey, William Shatner, Keanu Reeves, Mike Myers, Dan Akroyd, Pamela Anderson, Donald Sutherland, Ryan Reynolds, and director James Cameron are a few prominent examples.
  12. It's probably a good way to be. I don't think there are too many people out there who regret not drinking enough, but there are loads who regret drinking too much.
  13. In retrospect, it seems pretty clear, but it's difficult to know the right thing to do at the time. Thanks for commenting.
  14. I've done this before, too, confident that no one could hear me over the storm.
  15. Yes, she is definitely a bit of a handful, but she has some redeeming qualities.
  16. It's becoming increasingly difficult for me to reply to these comments without giving anything away, so I will focus on things we already know. Nathan's manipulation has been obvious to us for a while, but until recently, Robbie has been unable to see it. Things changed when he got the part in the movie, and Robbie convinced himself that their relationship was doomed to fail. Now, it seems he's just going through the motions. At the moment, he would rather hang out with Rory as a friend than spend time with Nathan as a lover, and that has to be a bad sign.
  17. It could be that one of the scenarios in your comment is correct, but it would be wrong of me at this stage to even give a hint.
  18. I'm not sure about the bellboy, but maybe Nathan isn't as faithful as he claims. Four weeks in Vancouver will be a bigger challenge for him, but I guess it depends on who will be his chaperone. Miranda is an interesting character who Robbie hasn't managed to figure out yet, despite a lot of clues.
  19. Robbie's competitive spirit may help him to re-discover his love of swimming. He needs something positive in his life to focus on. We don't know what Nathan is thinking or planning, but Robbie believes their relationship is ending and seems to have lost interest.
  20. Air conditioning was always on the list of things Don promised to do but never got around to, and he's probably glad now that he didn't. I suppose he never spent enough time at home for it to be necessary. I can't comment on the confession without giving it away.
  21. There have been a few hiccups, most notably with Nathan, but Robbie and Daniel have gradually grown into brothers. One minute, they're the worst of enemies, and the next, the best of buddies. There's only a year between them, but if it weren't for Robbie's accent, it would be difficult for anyone who didn't know to guess he was adopted. This is good news for everyone except Don, who doesn't want the boys to be close and will do whatever he can to turn them against each other.
  22. Rory is a very confused young man, but that's all I can say at the moment. Clearly, he thinks a lot of Robbie, probably more than he cares to admit. It's difficult to describe their relationship, but it's more than simply best friends. There's a lot of love there, but there's also a need for physical contact, which goes both ways and will inevitably cause problems when it comes to seeing other people. We can already see from Nathan's reaction that it will be difficult for Robbie or Rory to remain this close and have successful relationships with other people. Robbie probably understands this more than Rory, but whether he will be able to do much about it is another matter.
  23. Summer came early that year with a mini heat wave that coincided with the Victoria Day holiday, colloquially known as May-two-four. This long weekend traditionally marked the start of the summer season—when the town made its money—and it looked like a bumper year as crowds flocked to the waterfront to take advantage of the warm weather. After surviving a brutal and protracted winter, and with no more health issues to hold me back, I was determined to make the most of my second summer in the
  24. Aloha Albert. I've been busy and also a bit of a recluse.
  25. I'm still here! Merry Christmas, everyone. ❤️
