    Blades of Ashes Characters
I'm jumping in here to create a character list for my story, Blades of Ashes (BOA). It's turned into a bit of an epic project, which was unexpected, but I'll keep going. I should add this character list to help track everyone from each arc.
BOA is written in arcs, with a different case developing in each arc. Characters may drop off and return as each arc develops; others may only appear in a particular arc to serve the purpose of the case and never appear again. It's a quest, hehehe. The main characters are Azula Doriel and Raithion Maenaer, and will always remain constant.

Arc 1: The Case of the Forged Silver Coins: This case develops during a period of economic and political turmoil in the Empire of Lyria following the ascension of Basileus Dio Adertha. A currency crisis begins as lightweight, forged silver coins flood the markets, causing public unrest and significant financial losses for common citizens. Draeya General Raithion Maenaer, operating undercover at the Counterfeit Inspectors Unit, learns from the imperial assayer that the forgeries are made using "burnt ore," a unique material rich in iron and titanium mined exclusively by the Sura Clan. He must find out the truth of this case to exonerate the Sura Clan.
    Characters:
    1. The Baker: - A local citizen of Genad who attempts to exchange silver for gold denaris, highlighting the impact of the forgery crisis on commoners.
    2. Exchange Bureau Attendant: - The official who implements the new weighing rules and informs the baker of the rejected, lightweight silver.
    3. Bureau Guards: - Burly soldiers in identifying silver-green uniforms who maintain order in the exchange hall through intimidation.
    4. Sura Cargo Carriage Driver & Assistant - Seasoned clansmen transporting "burnt ore" from Naga State to the capital before being ambushed.
    5. Mercenaries (Huga Nedin’s Men) - A group of ten riders who hijack the Sura shipment to obtain the black ore for their master's plans.
    6. Raithion Maenaer (General Draeya) - Introduced, watching the city from the Counterfeit Inspectors Unit while operating undercover to find the source of the forgery.
    7. Haedor Ayas: - Raithion’s most trusted friend and lieutenant, disguised as a bureau guard to assist in the investigation.
    8. Inspectors - Palace officials working at the Counterfeit Inspectors Unit to document the currency collection.
    9. Master Sinsa - The wizened imperial assayer who identifies "burnt ore" as the forger's material and pleads with Raithion to protect the Sura Clan.
    10. Dio Adertha (Basileus) - The young, twenty-five-year-old ruler of Lyria, struggling with political factions in his capital.
    11. Thanir Maenaer (Marquis Draeya) - Raithion’s father, who presents an "imperium" from the late Basileus Rokas to Dio, pledging his family's military support.
    12. Noriel Maenaer - Raithion’s sister, whose lavish wedding to Hujan Draug serves as the Maenaer family’s formal introduction to the capital's nobility.
    13. Hujan Draug - Noriel’s handsome groom, who is elevated to Viscount status upon his marriage into House Maenaer.
    14. Soriel Maenaer - Raithion’s youngest sister, who presents the wedding rings at Noriel's wedding and immediately catches the interest of Basileus Dio.

    17. Lasma Doriel - Marius’s wife and a primary healer who provides the clan's moral compass.
    18. Alise Doriel - Marius’s daughter and the intended heir to the Sura Clan chieftaincy, who eventually leads the escape from Genad.

    22. Alva - A Sura woman who manages the ancestral home and is described as a sister figure to Azula. (In later chapters, there is a rampant typo of this name that is Alvas. I'll edit it soon to fix her character name.)

    24. Huga Nedin - The boss of the mercenaries responsible for hijacking the Sura carriages.

So, that's a really long, involved list. I've tried to list the names as they appear in each Arc, squeezing in everyone who appeared in each one. I may have left someone off, but I'll work on updating this list as I go. I'm still writing, still determining how Wolfe would like Raithion in any world. I mean, Wolfe is too angry, with good reason, but... sigh. There is a roughly drawn map, but I'm currently not happy with it, so I'll share that at a later date.
Thank you for checking this out! Cheers.

Decided to go for a certain wedding, dressed in red. I figure supporting is better than sulking at home like a little child.
This is the point where I discover that I'm a tad masochistic. I had lunch with one of my friends the other day, and we got to talking about how it gets harder to make friends as we grow older. I'm thirty-one right now, and it seems the same circle of four friends I have is the same one I've had forever. In fact, the circle dwindles at times, there are times when I'm closer to one friend more than the others, other times we're all stuck together, but it never goes beyond these four.

So when one of them has suddenly become a source of stress, (see previous post on unrequited love) I feel like I'm losing a vital part of my life. Hence the decision to go to the wedding I wish wasn't happening. I'll smile and laugh and dance...like a fool.
    What does that mean exactly?
My friend says I might get lucky....find my soulmate at the wedding party later. I guess I gotta cast the net wide again.

    Cheers, to all y'all.
Writing takes a break this weekend as I sort through this mess.

There are days, and there are days: Today has been a hard one.

I spend ninety percent of my time working, the other ten percent, is for doing those things that make me happy. A few months ago, I met this guy, and you know how you just click with someone at first meet....that sounds corny...but yes, it happens. There are those people you meet and you just get each other right off. He made it easy to bring down the ninety percent to fifty of work and just spending time out in the air, enjoying life.

As karma would have it, this have-fun-with-life man has a girlfriend. Has been seeing her for months on end, before we ever met. That was hard to discover. There was a short phase of wishing that I had it in me to become the evil witch who would do all that was possible to break them up. Sadly, I don't have it in me, so I've been uber nice to this lady.
Anyway, today I discover they're getting married, and I might have screamed and cried inside, while I wished them well.
It's now back to the ninety percent of work, perhaps even ninety-five percent.

Yeah, the day has been a grinder.
Sharing today, because, well...this just needs sharing and a bottle of Merlot.

I sort of muddle along when it comes to writing, but I have a story that has so many people waiting for it, that I thought it is better to share what my thoughts are. The frustration of waiting to read the next chapter....I understand this very well.
    So...

    For

A Healing Heart - > Read it Here

I've set it up that a chapter goes up every week. On Fridays or Saturdays.
Catch up with the new chapter.
    - Talin and Dimitri find themselves in a difficult situation at dinner with Vlad.

A Haunted Love - > Read it Here

This is a new story. I'll post the new chapter on Tuesdays.
Catch up with the new chapter
    - Hideki and Kazuma get used to each other....and a sizzling kiss.

I suddenly realize I've started a trend of naming my stories with "A..." what a peculiar trend. Hmm...

To all of you who read me...you're my special people, Thank You!

    Hello, Hello!!!

I feel like jumping up and down, being able to post on GA again, even though it's just a blog post for now. I missed posting on here, writing comes easy, but without sharing the stories, I tell you, it can be a dull world. I've been away, unable to log on to GA for like two months...yes, that is a big deal apparently. I'm glad to be back now. The picture is a treat from yours truly....sunrise at Diani...pretty, right?

Look forward to new chapters all around.

    First blog entry on GA
The year ends tomorrow and 2015 brings changes, some quite unexpected. Hence the blog entry. I love writing here on GA, and often run several stories at the same time. Its a challenge I love and I try to keep updating as often as I can. But the new year brings a change to this.
As work is important to keep life going, I have to place my posting on GA on hold. The company I work for is sending me to an even more remote place. Hehe, several factors will seriously affect my ability to post new chapters. My program will run for six months, so i'll be back in June. Hoping for an earlier date than that, but it will depend on how well our schedules run.
So, for the new year, I wish you all a Happy 2015. I hope it is filled with good fortune. I'll miss GA terribly and will keep writing so that I'll post many chapters when I get back. I ship out tomorrow, so 'till then....be well.
    Love.
    Sui

So, this is a song that makes my heart ache in that way that makes you nostalgic, and happy too. My happy blog post after my birthday. This year, there was no large celebration, but a gentle day with friends and family. Smiles, encouragement, and even wishes of love and happy birthday from friends and family I hadn’t talked to in so long. It was a nostalgic kind of birthday. So, I dedicate this song to all of them, for making me love them all the more, even when they’re far from me.
(Some lyrics are in the native language, but the music really seeps into the soul all the same )

    “One Ok Rock's Heartache Lyrics”

    So they say that time
    Takes away the pain
    But I’m still the same
    And they say that I
    Will find another you
    That can’t be true

    Why didn’t I realize?
    Why did I tell lies?
Yeah I wish that I could do it again
    Turnin’ back the time
Back when you were mine (all mine)

    So this is heartache?

    So this is heartache?
    Hiroi atsumeta koukai wa,
Namida e to kawari oh baby

    So this is heartache?

    So this is heartache?
Ano hi no kimi no eiga wa
    Omoide ni kawaru
    I miss you

    Boku no kokoro o
    Yuitsu mitashite satte yuku
    Kimi ga
    Boku no kokoro ni
    Yuitsu furerareru koto ga dekita
    Kimi wa

    Oh baby
Mou inai yo mou nanimo nai yo
Yeah I wish that I could do it again
    Turnin’ back the time
Back when you were mine (all mine)

    So this is heartache?
    So this is heartache?
    Hiroi atsumeta koukai wa
Namida e to kawari oh baby

    So this is heartache?
    So this is heartache?
Ano hi no kimi no eiga wa omoide ni kawaru
    I miss you

    It’s so hard to forget
    Kataku musunda sono musubime wa
    Yeah, so hard to forget
    Tsuyoku hikeba hiku hodo ni

    You and all the regret
    Hodokenaku natte hanare renaku natta
Ima wa tsurai yo, sore ga tsurai yo

Lately, I've thought a lot about meal times, not because of the food, but about who is sitting at the table with me for the meal. Most times when I write characters, I find it lonely to write them eating food alone at the dining table. It's sort of sad to spend time in the kitchen cooking, and then lay it out on the table and have only one food setting.

The other day, I spent the day out in the city and passed this gorgeous Thai restaurant, I wanted to go in, but the thought of eating at a table alone felt weird to me. I didn't think the food would settle well. So, I walked in and bought take-away food and went home to share it with my housemates. Sadly, this is probably a sign that I'm getting older and getting worried of being alone. I'm not quite sure what that's about, but it seems lonely to sit at the table alone...

I hope everyone gets someone to sit across from and laugh about burnt toast...and crunchy potatoes with.

    Happy Easter!

    Sui.
