While a nice little idealistic story of gay boys in love, it was full of repetitive waffle and could have been told with half the words. Comicality tends towards excess verbage in his writing. It's a pity as he could have something to say otherwise. I thought the story was too contrived and convenient. None of the bad guys were punished for their actions, and Derrick never took appropriate action through the school to stop his abuse. I cannot believe that so many people in a school can turn a blind eye to the obvious. The Mitch character was ludicrous. How could the school not know there was tampering on a gross scale with their computer system? Again, contrived story lines. As well, there were inconsistencies in story lines. Derrick had to complete his assignment at Tanner's house because he did not have a computer, then in the last chapter we have Joel checking his emails and Facebook on Derrick's computer in his bedroom. I have been critical of Comicality in other reviews about his refusal to include safe sex messages in his writing. All the sex between Derrick and Tanner is unprotected, and the issue of safe sex iis never addressed. OK I accept 14 year old boys re rand as hell, and sfe sex is uall the last thing on their minds, but Comicality is pitching his stuff to young guys. so has a responsibility to get the message across some way or other IMHO. Otherise, its really just porn for teens.

Billy, the problem I have with your story is that all the main protagonists (except JT) are too perfect and uncharacteristically tolerant of gays in small town USA. I'm almost expecting you to tell us at any minute that Roger is gay also. He certainly acts as if he is a times, and certainly not like a straight 15 year old boy. These kids all seem to act like adults. Can we please have them acting like the adolescent males that they are? Also I would like to comment on the wierd spiritual aspects of the story. We've had deams, appearances of Christ-like figures, angels speaking in the language of the King James Bible, tarot readings, and this is all getting a bit ridiculous. Lets just stick to a nice gay coming of age story without all the wierd supernatural nonsense. Next you'll be inroducing vampires and zombies. Sorry to be the only one making negative comments, but someone has to introduce a note of reality to help you keep your nice story believable.
