As much as I have enjoyed the Carter series, with all that is happening in the world right now, I just don't think I can read this series right now. It hits too close to home, I found after reading the last book combined with current events was starting to take toll on my mental health. Sorry Topher, I want to, but I just can't do it now. Maybe later when the Orange Peril is gone, but not now.

The K-car and it's many variants saved Chrysler from bankruptcy when it first appeared in the early 80s. Also was developed into the first minivan and that was a cash cow for Chrysler. The got their money's worth from that chassis. A spoof ad for one:

I can't cope with that sort of heat and humidity, it utterly drains me. More than about 23 and the AC is on. I'd say 0 to 10 is about the perfect temperature. The air is crisp and refreshing, you can do things without breaking a sweat, just lovely.

I was actually a fairly small and economical car (for the times), based on Chryslers' ubiquitous K Car. Had either a 2.2 or 2.6L 4 cylinder engine producing 84 and 94hp respectively. Not exactly flyers, but they got around.

So the password is "Password"😊

It's a shame that the Carters are now in separate countries, I think Will doesn't know that Andrew is alive? I hope there is some way they can meet up again in the future.

I know this whole story is fiction, but in the news tonight I see that Trump is again bringing up taking over Greenland "For the safety of the world". It's really sad that we need a real world Will, Andrew and El Coyote to combat this threat of modern Stalinism.

Kind of ironic you should say that, as this was in the news this evening: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/alberta-referendum-question-approved-9.7025892 Unfortunately, there are far too many Trump wanna-bes in Alberta who can only think of how much better they think they will be when they are "free". They are just as dumb and shortsighted as the Trump supporters in the US.

There is hope that the presidents paranoia will get ramped up when he processes that Silas is dead. With any luck he can sense the unraveling of his plan.

A collage of alternate ending "shorts" would make interesting reading!

I'm sort of familair with that area. There used to be a Jaguar Spares Day at the NEC Stoneleigh that I have gone to a number of times and used to stay at a B&B in Bubbenhall.

Amazing what a bit of spray paint can accomplish. The Fosse Way is a historic road, I drove part of it this summer in the guise of the B4455 when I visited Gaydon.

There was far less carnage in this chapter than I thought there might be based on your previous comments. Given the circumstances, only killing the 3 was reasonably necessary and restrained. I kind of though he might use his access to the building to do more, but I suppose he just had physical access, not computer access. He's still a ghost who needs to slip in, do his job and slip out of the belly of the beast. I'm looking forward to the "fun" Enrico can have with the banking access. Any bets Trump has cash stashed in the same bank? Would be nice to see a little asset stripping going on to help rebuild Parliament.

Well, you were setting it on US soil, and they do love 1911's down there. Not sure why, but they do. Those have 7 in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber making 8 ( when in .45 caliber). Sig does make 1911's, although the P229 does have a greater magazine capacity. Now that I think about it, almost all semi automatic pistols have a greater magazine capacity than 8 in the 1911.

Ah, so it's like the old British Airways ad for their improved business class: "Lie back and think of England in a bigger bed"

That's what laxatives are for!!!

I suppose the saving grace is that the Americans haven't won a war in a very long time. Thinking of Vietnam and Afghanistan as examples they have never been able to win a guerrilla war, and the invasion of Canada would definitely be something akin to the conflict in Northern Ireland. Canadians wouldn't make any occupation easy.

Damn, did you have to go that bleak? All we can hope for now is the British to launch a nuclear missile on Washington from one of their submarines.

I'm sure Enrico and Andrew are keeping radio silence for their own safety. They each have jobs to do, broadcasting their existence can only compromise their mission. They are not out of the woods yet, they both have to make it back to Canada. Once on Canadian soil, then Andrew can make contact with Will.

I hope Lisa is going to use her personal discretion and "not be able to find" the Chief of Defense Staff to relay the order. The Americans are already standing down, Will is reacting as irrationally as Trump was. Hopefully cooler heads can prevail and more accurate data obtained about Andrew. Forgot to add West has multifaceted qualities: Soldier, Action man, Spy, and now Sprog Whisperer.

You gave the characters great depth, I can imagine Luke's exasperation with Scott. Gran is a gem, nothing gets past her. Mmm, trifle😊

Nothing sweeter than a bully losing control totally. Hmm, no mention of Silias. He scamper off like a rat back into his hole? If I had to put money on it, I wouldn't be taking a bet that it will be Andrew in a bodybag.

Might be tough to inform him, since Trump is sitting in the dark.

I got it wrong then, I though West was the one saying no.
