  1. well, I agree with LittlBuddha on the Connor topic... Ryan had it coming with the way he handled the general situation in the last months and his (now ex) boyfriend... I would have been a lot less nice about it for my part. When angry, you very often end up hitting low (it means "hitting on someone's weakness" right?), a lot lower than what Connor did actually... if that a side remark on his ADD has more impact than the real message that was sent (if it is indeed what lead Ryan to being a mess afterwards, but we can't be sure yet), that would be proof that he really did not even get the main message: that he has messed up big time and hurt Connor to the point where he can't take it anymore. Respect, love and human relations aren't only about words but about actions, what you do for the poeple who are supposed to be important to you, or what you don't. I'd say Connor was great and tried to be understanding and there for others while Ryan was a big selfcentered jerk... So a few "mean" words don't weight a lot compared to the behavior shown by Ryan in the last chapters. Then again, that is just my opinion...
  2. And to think that I was complaining that Ryan was too perfect at one point.... I certainly can't say that anymore! I wasn't expecting their breakup to happen like that, on a sudden spur of the moment for Ryan, I was expecting a fight or something... But the breakup in itself could be expected. I had thought that the central pairing was Connor and Ryan, and I guess I am still hanging onto that, I mean, they have been central to the story untill now... So I am not expecting for their story to end like that and for connor to simply move on with whomever. Maybe I'm very wrong, it's just the way I feel, that it is a story about them as couple, growing from a teenager to an adult relationship. But we'll see, maybe I'm in for a huge surprise.... I really like your writing style, that's what makes a huge difference from so-so stories. The storyline is nice of course, but it's the way you describe your characters, their psychologie, their surroundings, the way they interact, and don't simply have them have them talk. It's really nice to read a story that doesn't rely too heavily on dialogues but on narrative parts and descriptions as well! It makes it a much more intense experience while reading a story. So I guess that my point was: even if I'm wrong and Ryan and Connor part way "forever", I know I'll still enjoy reading the next chapters because of the way you'll write whatever will happen I hope that you'll enjoy your return "home", and that it will give you plenty of inspiration too...
  3. I wonder if the investigation about Connor's rape will come back in the story, I would like for it to be resolved, but I wonder how many of such investigations end up classified with no resolution in real life... I guess it could bring some more downs in connor's life (having to see the guy etc), but maybe not in the next chapter, there is already so much drama with Mickey and Toby ;_; I guess patching up time between Ryan and Connor would be logical in the next chapter... and and between Ryan and his brother too. They both need support after Mickey's passing away. Well, since it will probably end up being different from what I expected, let's wait for the surprise. Have a nice and safe trip back to the US LittleBuddha!
  4. that's pure evil to be finishing the chapter on that note... And I want to kick Ryan too... How long untill the next upadte? well, I guess getting us this annoyed and frutrated means you did a good job as a writer, Mister Buddha, but it would be even more awsome if nobody died...
  5. interesting videos, I had heard of that "movement" but never seen anything about it... scary^^;; but in a way, the way that journalist argued with the woman (the last video I believe) seemed very flawed to me: I don't believe the United States have any official religion, and I believe that the freedom of religion is protected as well (correct me if wrong). So basicly, just because those phelbs people rely so heavily on their religion, a certain amount of people won't care in the least... (and there seems to be a lot of different christians movements/churches too in the US). They have no solid proof, only rely on a few books that have no relevance (OK, some cultural relevance, I am exagerating) to a portion of the population. In such a case, it was somehow handled as if what's in the bible had to be the central focus, and it's already giving the said religion an incredible amount of importance that I don't think it would have in my country... I hope that nobody feels offended by what I have written, it's certainly not meant as that ^^
  6. I guess we had all fogotten how Ryan could mess up and act like a moron... But he had already done that at the beginning, turning suddenly his back on Connor after having "caught" him with Toby (although he wasn't Connor's boyfriend yet and in a way had no right to react that way...). So well, his outstanding behaviour (after he cleaned up his act) blinded us all and now we are certainly disapointed in him, but in a way, we should not have forgotten ;_; I am quite appaled and hope that it won't take his brother's death for him to realize that he is behaving completely stupidely! **evil look torwards the writer** Cody and Toby did look cute in Connor's eyes, but I'm not sure that they will end up together in the end, looks doomed to me... OK, I am not too found of matchmaking as well ^^;;; As to Mickey, I am not surprised at the turn of event, people don't just change their mind and begin to accept their son's "gayness" after just one discussion, especially after having thrown him out to start with... So any other happier scenario chosen would have seem very unlikely. But since I am a "happy ending" fan, I hope for a good outcome! **evil look number 2 torwards the writer** About the Dominic issue, I guess I feel slightly less concerned (right now), I mean, Mickey is certainly in a bad situation with his parents, that's my N
  7. well, nice chapter! (As always...) I am not that mad at you for making toby become sick again because you reasonably can't kill him... right...? I am mad at Ryan though... Then again, it's a nice thing that he becomes a little less perfect, maybe Connor's popularity is even going to rise above Ryan's now ^^ Well, hopefully you won't make him act too badly though, I like liking Ryan (does that even make sense?). I agree with the comment on how Ryan certainly could have offered to bottom on their first night... I mean, I guess real couple are more flexible and don't always play the same part... (OK, since I'm not a gay guy, I guess I don't really know how it really goes as well) A side question: I didn't even know what lacrosse was untill a few minutes ago (thank you google!); I lived in the US a couple of years ago (just for 1 year) and I have never heard of that sport, and now, I have read 2 stories that have a lacrosse team... Is that a popular sport actually?
  8. I must say that it is the part that threw me off... I mean, he got an unreasonable amout of far from cheap presents... I did wonder how Maggy, as a single parent, could afford to buy so much (I know, whe wasn't alone, but she is the one giving Ryan and Cody their pocket money too I guess)... Well, I had already been slightly surprised with the Xmas presents (I mean the entire DVD collection and CDs of Elton john and a portable DVd player can't be ahtat cheap... unless the prices in the US are very different). So reparing an old car + so many other presents, I did wonder when the present's shower would stop :wacko: . I would say his personality can't not have changed, but I'm not sure wether it's really very noticable from one chapter to the other. If we reread the 1st chapter of your story, the change is tremendous, he is a lot more confident... To me, the main post-rape difference might be that he seems able to accept help form the people around him. Can't pinpoint anything else yet. well, it is certainly true that Ryan is the most beloved character. I guess it might be because he seems like the perfect boyfriend, supportive and loving etc. So How can poor connor compare to him? But there are other cases of very good stories with a similar character ranking : look at "Dropping Desert" where Rory was certainly not the most well liked character, nevertheless, the story was quite well liked in itself ^^ Same with "The Ordinay Us" (well, I love the main character and his insecurities / slighly psycho side, but I'm not sure it saw everybody's case, and I'm sure Jude must have been the favorite character in this story too ^^). (Okie, I only cited Domluka's stories , but it's kind of nice to have your story compared to his, isn't it? ) well, I'll be looking forward to your next chapter
  9. I am a little surprised actually, no pre-release thread opened yet... not that I would not rather get the next chapter, but I got used to those 'we are trying to reign in our impatience by discussing the oncoming chapter" topics ^^ and some people do have very interesting pronostics too!
  10. My english is usually fluent enough to understand everything, but I'm affraid it has reached its limit: what exactly is a cameo please? To little buddha: still a very nice story (I won't repeat myself again, I said it last time already LOL). Just like everyone else, I wonder what's in store for poor connor, 10 more chaps, there is room for a lot to happen... don't be too mean please ^^;;;
  11. in a way, all of those funny theory make me laugh, but they also made me aware of that goat as a "character", and it's quite true that I expect now something to happen with the goat in a way ^^;;; If nothing were to happen, I might be thinking "hey, you forgot the goat's scene!"... funnily, we don't expect anything from the rat or the other exotic animals... I'm really too influenced by some of the weirdest thoeries ;_;
  12. hi! I'm so happy: a new chapter!!!! I was glad about Caleb ending up being more understanding than he was before and explaining what was bugging him, and I mean, this Jame is like a giant vesp ready to annoy the hell out of people (I hate bugs). I am curious as to how they have started hating eachother, is it really about the name calling when they were younger and then it blew out ot proportion? I wonder if there is not more to it. Then again, sometimes people start hating eachother for stupid reasons.... As to who will find out first, I am not sure now. I mean, Caleb is getting pretty suspicious too right? Wondering why Nelson is ready to put up with assface to be friend with Milo. I believe that he knows there is something here but chooses to be oblivious... or seems oblivious maybe. I'm not saying he knows what it is yet thought, just that he might not be that surprised when he finds out that there is actually more than friendship going on there. Jame, well, he might be the one who will bable out the news when he finds out. Like everyone here, I believe he will the the source of the problem. I don't know about Mr Trust's reaction to that news though... We have been seeing him through his son's eyes, so he doesn't seem like a caring father at all, but if you think about it: his ex-wife was an artist (photograph right?), so he must have dwelved in a not that stiff and formal environment at one point in his life... I mean, he had chosen to marry a woman who was not the most conventionnal kind (she hasn't even tried to have her son's guardianship which is something that is usually expected that mothers at least attempt right?). So he might actually be more open minded than he seems to be. Those are only speculation, but who knows? or maybe he'll be horrible, we'll see ^^;;; About Juanita, well, it's nice to see her heathing up to Nelson, at least she understand that he cares for Milo. Not sure if she knows, only time (and the oncoming chapters ;_ will tell...
  13. it's nice that you have your own section on the forum now^^ congratulations ! I really like that story, the characters are very cute and you get attached to them quite quickly. Like a lot of readers, I was dreading this chapter, I'm glad you did not overdetail the violent scene, I am in an oversensitive period (I have a hard time with violence anyway), then again, I'd do like I do sometimes: read one out of four lines to "skip" the unbearable part... Anyway, huge sense of relief now that this chapter has come out! I really like the idea of the buddist friend, you have enlarged the possiblities of your plot thanks to that friend from outside the Ryan's circle, a very welcomed addition to my taste. Ryan feels a little too perfect to me sometimes, so understanding and all, but then again, he has quite a lot catching up to do since he was such an ass**** at some of the earlier chapters... And if he were to revert back to that rejection time, I would so want to beat him up... I guess my feelings on the topic are paradoxal, so don't mind me ^^;;; So the story is bound to be quite longer... Now I dread what will happen to connor and where he will be placed... In a way, I tend to think it can't be worse than his mom but who knows what you'll come up with >_<
  14. I have never spoken to Green, but I read his blog and it used to give me a lot of joy. Seeing how extremely sad this news makes me, I can hardly picture how Chaz, his friends and his family must feel. I hope that they will be able to overcome their grief and live on and be happy again in the future, as inimaginable as it might seem now. take care of yourself Chaz, and I hope to hear from you again... annushka
  15. This is the first time you've heard of me, but I do hope that it won't be the last time I'll hear from Chaz and Green... your blog entry have been a really bright spot full of life, so I'm very sorry to hear that awful news. I know you don't know me at all, and I don't really know you, but I'm sending you my best wishes for a good recovery! annushka
  16. It's bad, I've had time to re-read the entire story... and I am checking far too often if the next chap is online ;_; really bad ;__; *goes back to look again*
  17. I really liked all of DomLuka's story so far, but I agree that comparing oneshots with longer stories is very unfair to the short ones. Apart from that, my favorite hasn't changed yet: The ordinary us!!! I completely got sucked into that story because the main character and his fears are just so vividly described, and his love interest is THE ideal boyfriend (still jealous), and the other cast mambers are juste really interesting too and don't seem to be stereotised (does that even exist in english? / I mean even the ex-girlfriend is an interesting character), and I agreee, Taylor rocks completely! (so many reasons you see...) Number 2 used to be "the log way". That story is quite good really, but we'll see as "with trust" goes on because it certainly is an exciting story!
  18. "You know what? Nelson really is a jerk. He's learning, but he's a jerk." actually, I fail to see what part of the chapter you are refering to right now... it looked to me like they working to a better undestanding of eachother and I haven't seen Nelson do anything that would make me label him as a "jerk"... unless it's the wedding thing... then again, it has little to do with him that emily came to his house to check out the property, and he could have told Milo, but I can understand his reluctance very well. very nice chapter! Milo and nelson seem to finally be getting somewhere in their relationship! then again, things can change for the worse so easely^^;;;
  19. well, about the nickname "Milo", I had first thought about the Venus of Milo as well and thought it was fitting because of the art theme... but it's true that it doesn't seem to really fit actually... So I have just been thinking that it might have something to do with spanish which they seem to speak absolutely fluently at home... and I don't understand at all. You know, some sort of nickname given by the "housekeeper" or his mum... Did the mum speak spanish thought? too many "maybes"... I'm looking forward to knowing where he got the name, I'm sure DomLuka will unfold that mystery in a few chapters... anyway, awsome chapter! Really really well written!!! I can't wait for the next chapter!!! I'm still really worried about Halley, she seems awfully territorial about Nelson eventhough he did tell her that he was not looking for a girlfriend... As to the idea of Jame being into Milo, I am not really convinced it's the case since he is trying so hard with Halley... Then again, who knows? Maybe he's bisexual... Later's!
  20. very nice *_* I loved your seth too, quite impressive! the only thing that had me startled was the title: "The Lo(n)g Way~Quinn" I think he was in the other fic, The ordinary us? (sorry if I'm wrong^^;; )
  21. I guess it might be the phone number in the dirt... absolutely creative and unique! it was just so sweet too... well, Seth is just sooo sweet! on a slightly different topic, I loved the "I pulled a Luke" sentence said by Rory in the last chapter, really funny and to the point for those who know the story! too bad it can't be used on an everyday basis...
  22. I really like that story, a good start and a welcome change in perspective, even if it's the same formally (with "I"), I like the change of character, someone cheerful, positive and outgoing, a good kid without problems poppping out of everywhere in short. A more normal type of boy that one gets to like very quickly I believe, because he can act so cute torwards his "love interest". And his active part in the pursuit of Milo will give the story a different rythm, I'm sure it'll be great. Well, my favorite story so far is TOU, a very different type of main character, a breathtaking story to me... but who knows, it might change with this story in the future^^ Milo is somewhat of a pain in the ***, at least he acts like that, but well, in a cute sort of way too... I hope that we'll learn more about him soon cause we really lack information about him like someone pointed out. I hope that he won't be some sort of Quinn or Rory and take 20 chaps to know what he wants though cause it might get frustrating (especially from Nelson's point of view ^^;; ). But the end of this chapter gives me hope for that matter since he is actually initiating a conversation and issuing an invitation afterwards... Good job Milo! He'd better go to Nels now too *crosses her fingers* It would be fun if he saw the comics that Nelson drew of him. It's just as well that he doesn't know Nelson saw that naked painting he did, especially consedering how he took it when Nelson saw a few crayon studies of him, he really didn't know how to handle that so imagine what it would have been like if the painting had been mentionned... about Joe, a lot of people seem to "dislike" him. I don't know if it's because I'm not american and we have a different history with alcohol, but I'm not as set against him as that. What he did was wrong, but he is a teenager. Adults make mistakes all the time, I'm not expecting better from a rebelling teenager... I mean, it can happen, it does happen all the time. The way he deals with having lost his driver's license is very teenager like too: b*tching about it like it wasn't his fault to start with... and anyway, what bothers me more is making a huge deal about alcohol and not about having smoked pot when you drive. Just because it's not detected right away like alcohol, it isn't any better while driving, just as dangerous (so what if he's used to it, is it safe to let anyone drive when they have drunk just because they drink on a regular basis?).. So I'd say that none of these teenagers are very mature since they seemed to have found it OK to have him smoke and drive... found the quote in the first chapter:
  23. Well, I kept hoping for Rory x Lucke to get together at first, but I have been pretty much charmed by seth. His shyness was just so cute! I can't tell wether he's simple "rebound" like some think or wether they will ultimatly stay together... But eitherway, the story is so well written that I guess I'd like both scenarios now. About lucke, the conversation they had was very enlightning, and I must say that I see them more as friends than as potencial couple, but I know now that nothing is deffinite in this story! When Rory was trying to call his old friends that he hadn't called in month (from what I understood about the situation), I had a thought about what could happen when he does get to talk to them. I don't know if Eddy has told Grandma alice about the deal he has made with Rory, but if he did, we don't know about it (unless I forgot about that part, the story is starting to be pretty long, I might have forgotten details ;_ . So I was thinking that one of his friend might have called in the summer and grandma Alice might have told him that Rory moved for good to live with his father... So that when he gets to talk to them, it might lead him to stay... well, hopefully it was understandable, anyway, it's just a random idea that popped up just while I was reading that part, but I'm pretty sure that it will be off the mark since I don't seem to ba able to guess right in Domlucka's stories... As to Aaron's sudden arrival, I would have been scarred for Rory if they had met earlier... But Rory knows Aaron is a lier, and puts down people he goes out with (good thing he had this conversation with Lucke); He seems to be over Aaron, so I'm not worried about him as much as I would have been a few chaps ago. But I am certainly very curious about what it is that Aaron has to say (he went pretty far to try to talk to him)! quick edit: and Angela >_<# I mean, couldn't she wait to talk to Seth? She seems to call him everyday and see him almost every day too, but she had to have a word with him at that precise moment...
  24. Hi all^^ I was hoping for some bloodshed ;_; but I guess it was unlikely ^^;; (the parental supervision was too effective ;_ too bad Aaron did not get kicked down there ... It's true that it looks like Rory has a hard time having any "calm" conversation with quite a few people... He's still quite annoying and bratty sometimes, but seeing him rejecting Aaron makes me go a little softer on him there is hope! (even though, a few posts earlier, hi_college_guy showed a very convincing proof that he is still unable to say no and actually mean it ;_ I do hope that he will end up with someone, to be honnest, I guess I'd be (more than) a little disapointed if he ended up alone at the end of this story ^^;; I love Luke and I wish he'd be "the one" for Rory, but I guess Seth might be OK, we'll see, we don't know him very well yet. see you all' annushka
  25. I'm glad I made you laugh Ann let me rephrase so that it is expresses what I really meant though ^^;;; All of the things that happened with Aaron were "explicit": He knows what Aaron did to Luke, how is "family" feels torwards Aaron; he knows that Aaron is after him (whether it is only sexual or not, it's not clear yet, therefore the big discussion about Aaron); he knows how his appointments with Aaron went and what happened... He knows what we know in this particular case. That he actually has processed those info is more questionable though... With Eddy and Jase, it was never said explicitely to Rory (untill Aaron said it), but we did pick the clues because they were very obvious to us, and I'm sure that they were (at least partly) obvious to us because we know that we are reading a gay fiction, so we look for clues in that direction. Just like the 'anti-Aaron' who dig for materials to find him guilty, and the other party who gives him the benefit of the doubt and tries to back up its opinion. Anyway, I'm curious as to what will happen between Aaron x Rory and Luke x Rory. And I'm still annoyed at Rory LOL
