  1. We made up about my stupidity in the club. Twice, and as it turned out, the way to a man’s heart was definitely through his stomach, because the following day I made breakfast for Issac. I woke early, ran to the market, took all the advice I could get, and returned home to create a breakfast that was not quite, but not totally dissimilar from something the recipe books called eggs benedict. It had good bread, and hot soft eggs, a thick creamy sauce made by whisking until my arms hurt and big fat
  2. quite apart from being gluten free, Stubbs honey and pecan is probably the best BBQ sauce around. you can't get it over here, which makes me very said in indeed, sounds tasty *steals*
  3. You have a very good nose
  4. yes, Zupan was always an arse
  5. Zoltan was grinning like a child when he showed up at the bar with his brother. I eyed Zupan carefully as I poured a fruit cider for Thorn and took her money for the drinks. I really wanted Darren to have to serve them, but he was mixing something toxic looking for a trio of gothic suits who still hadn’t gone home from their day jobs. I hadn’t actually spoken to Zupan since before I’d started dating Issac, and somehow, knowing that his reckless driving and meathead attitude were the reasons that
  6. I know no one stays forever, but it'd be nice to know they left rather than vanished you know? it's the vanishing without a trace that upsets me. you make a good point though, no one sticks around forever.
  7. they've a way to go my love.
  8. I broke up with Lena nine days after my birthday. Nine days after the blow job which wracked me guilt. Nine days of mysteriously vanishing when she showed up, not being there to hang out. Nine days of no texts or calls or kisses. In honesty, I was surprised it took nine days. Saturday morning I woke up, had a quick shower and pulled on my running gear to meet the guys for a jog. Lately I had started on a route that took me around all the houses, picking everyone up to go out together. I was fas
  9. Jesse is on tumblr? *rubbish at social media* and i hate to sound like i am belittling fanfic (totally valid format for creativity) but he could be doing so much more.
  10. It occurred to me the other day that pretty much all the artist, writers and web comics that i used to follow during my late teen and early adult years have vanished. (and i'm not that old that we're talking a really long time ago.) In particular I mourn the "passing" of Jesse Hajicek, author of one of my all time top five favourite books The God Eaters, the man who inspired me to get my work out there and printed, and the writer and sometimes artist of the epically good web comic Metanoia (god is a bullet) And after i think... 5 years now with not sight nor sound nor update, i have to admit that Metanoia isn't going to get finished and that we aren't going to be seeing any of the genius of this man any time soon. which is a shame, he'd have fitted in really well here on GA. Anyone else "lost" anyone? Where are the casualties of the internet? What happens to these people when they vanish from our browsers?
  11. i didn't want to correct you all about Issac's spelling...
  12. Issac has three legs. he has the atheltic blade, a regular prosthesis and the leg which is "described" as bionic because it has microprocessor-controlled joints and provides the sort of feedback system that allows the leg to be used almost like a real limb. These are actually in development and early production at the moment, and while someone like Issac might not be eligible for one yet (they tend to go to ex-service people) i wanted to allow him the freedom of moment that a leg like that would give.
  13. you can have your own Bay babes...
  14. Zu is straight...
  15. now that was something i hadn't thought of. Bay is daybreak...huh...
  16. here's the trick... he don't say no!
  17. “Here?” “No.” Issac’s lips moved in my hair, “Lower.” “Here?” “I can still feel that.” “Here?” I slid my hand further down his thigh. “Yeah, you’ve gone now.” I walked my fingers carefully back up Issac’s thigh to the place where feeling faded into numbness and I felt him smile against my scalp when he could feel my fingers again. I had ended up on his left side in the bed, and Issac had been weirdly alright with my curiosity about the stump. The leg ended just above where the knee joint w
  18. well thanks! we like it when people stay. welcome to the fold
  19. i feel lucky to have an overabundance of really good pubs. you should all come to Lewes and drink with me!
  20. We cook a lot of Turkish, so our meatballs have onions and mustard seeds and Kofte spices in (we get our mix from the lovely Amir of "the Spice Boys" in Kas. approx a mix with allspice, paprika, chilli, cumin and coriander, plus stuff i don't know. and egg obviously.
  21. Rhydian looked out across the yard to the fields. There were two figures on horseback leading four other horses in from the big field on head collars. Both figures were riding bareback, grinning and laughing as they came in. Rhydian shaded his eyes in the August heat to see them both clearer. One was obviously Moreta and Pal’s son, he had the same caramel skin and curly dark hair. The other figure was golden brown and sun-bleached under his Stetson. “Who’s that?” Rhydian asked, turning to Moret
  22. Rhydian has been doomed to spend the summer alone on a Western Ranch in Northern California. There, he meets Sam and Caleb, and his steep learning curve, from riding to relationships, boundaries and responsibilities, begins to shape him from a teenager into a capable young man.
  23. Sixteen. It felt like every other Friday morning. I woke up early, having run until midnight, but I woke feeling annoyed, empty, guilty, angry. Despite the best intentions of running, I had still dreamt of Zach and woken with a steel bar in my pyjamas that didn’t much want to go away. It’s a poor look out if a guy can’t give it for a quick fantasy on his birthday. I got my presents over a breakfast of waffles and syrup; new trainers, a bunch of less interesting things like socks and aftershave,
  24. i found that 17 had loaded up without 16, so i went in and took 17 down manually. no cheating! also... all will reviled in time.
