  1. He does have some huge obstacles to overcome for sure. Lol..didn't even consider his mother doing it for him; but he needed the shock to think over what he'd done and to heal from it.
  2. Chapter 4: Going Home It’d been a long night. Bernard slept only a couple hours at a time before Nancy or the other nurse for his wing, Paula, came in to check on his progress. The next morning, after breakfast, Nancy came in for her shift that day and checked him over. She had a checklist of almost a dozen items that he had to meet before he could be released. Bernard set down his juice glass after finishing it. Nancy smiled at him. “Good job! That’s items one and two right there. How do
  3. Chapter Eighteen The housewarming party (part 1) Brett’s POV Brett couldn’t believe it’d been nearly a month since he and Sam sat for an hour in some nondescript conference room signing their names for what seemed at least 100 times each. He just knew at least once he had to spell out “Zephyr” in his head to just get through the massive pile of paperwork to buy their house. But it was done! The 3,000 square-foot, 5 bed, 5 bath house with a pool was theirs! That was the hard part…or the easy
  4. Finally! After over two years of writing only co-works; I was able to finish Ice Fairy all on my own and turn it into a series to boot! It goes up for sale tomorrow at three different sites; Smashwords, Amazon, and All Romance Ebooks. Homework and life are slowing me down on progress on other items; but those will get done too...I promise.
  5. Thank you; I never planned on Brett being such a standup guy, but he's evolved into that and he is the rock of their relationship
  6. Yea, he does need to stop brooding over her for sure. He may need some counseling to deal with her loss...I hope so too.
  7. Life moves fast for them right now for sure...No worries, it is not ending...not yet.
  8. Chapter Seventeen Tour over! Brett’s POV “…That’s right. The one on Applewood Lane.” Brett turned to look at Sam, who looked so excited he’d burst. “Okay, gotcha. The seventeenth at 10 o’clock.” He hit ‘end’ on the call and put his phone back in his pocket. “We’re gonna go see it?” Sam looked like a kid on Christmas morning he was so excited. “Damn right we are. We’re a sure thing, Baby. Your last show is tonight, thank goodness, and we’ll be back in St. Louie tomorrow!” Sam hugged Brett t
  9. Oh definitely! He's been so down on himself and had his dreams crushed I don't think he remembers how to be upbeat. Agree on the weight too. But that's just the 1st step.
  10. Chapter Sixteen Brett’s POV It was a new year, 2015. Brett was anxious to be back on the road after the New Year’s blowup and Sam saying farewell to Amber once and for all. It’d not been an easy time of it; especially right after it happened. Sam put on a wonderful façade that he was coping, but on the inside… Well, Brett knew better than to think this would all blow over in one night’s time. As they sat cuddled together on the tour bus again; Sam’s head was on Brett’s shoulder and the young
  11. Chapter 3: The First Three Days The next day, Bernard’s mom came to visit again. She sat down and took his hand again. “How’s my boy today?” Bernard let out a breath. “I’m okay Mom, just tired.” She turned his wrists and saw the scars on them. “I brought you some magazines that you like. Those stitches healing up?” “Yeah, they look much better than they did before. Thanks for the magazines. You know I love ‘em.” “Anytime. Well, thank heavens you’re doin better. You eating okay? Lose any
  12. Thank you! I agree Amber was out of line with her reaction about how things blew it...the swapping was nice; at first. More to come for sure; planning a spinoff series of Ryan and Caleb.
  13. I had to make his mom the picture of the diner waitress; kinda a cross between Flo and Vera. LOL I agree...the weight is a large hurdle to mount; he needs the right kind of help.
  14. Chapter 2: The Morning After Nancy called Bernard’s mother. She tried to break the news gently and professionally at the same time. She had to hold the phone away from her ear when the woman reacted. The woman on the other end hung up and ran over to the hospital as quickly as she could. Her name was Molly. She was 66-years-old and a career waitress. Her hair was dyed bright pink to match her lips and nails. Her face housed ice blue eyes that matched her son’s. They were accented by powd
  15. Ono! I am so sorry... it is such a horrid thing to deal with; suicide. Poor Bernard! (not Jack...Jack is the dr. that saves him). Thanks, LJH
  16. What can I say? I like to change things up and take things in new, unexplored directions. Amber was toeing the line a long time ago and overall, people are happy she's out of the picture for now. People are complicated...
  17. He's got a rough road, but it gets better. Glad you are enjoying it!
  18. Hi Lisa! Thanks! Can you believe I wrote this 4 years ago? My beloved Bernie
  19. Chapter 1: Fateful Night August 8th. 10 p.m.The blinding red and blue strobing from the ambulance lights lit up the dark street. It’d been a silent evening until its arrival. Two paramedics rushed up the concrete steps to the midnight blue steel entry door on the far side of the long, rectangular apartment building. The lights from the ambulance painted a brilliant hue onto the otherwise dull, gray brick building. Even the trim was gray and all of it was falling apart. Another medic followe
  20. Bernard sat on his bed after a long day at the hotel at his job as a bellhop. He raked his fingers through his gray hair and yawned wide. He reached down and opened up his nightstand drawer and pulled out his journal. He flipped to an open page and plucked off the pen that was attached to the outside and clicked the point down. I can’t hold this in much longer. Jeremy makes me want to explode every time I get near that incredible body of his! He’s such a good customer, tips well, and never h
  21. 1st pubbed 4 years ago. this is the story of a suicidal, obese man who, at 46 yrs old, find the love of his life. He's definitely not your average character; but this is not your average love story.
  22. I agree with your points, MJ...we go for people who are most like us, and in the end, SB of course will gravitate towards RC.Amber didn't help her case though and could've been Sam's bff forever...but not gonna happen now.
  23. I agree that they need a long break from Amber. Sam needs to find out what life is like without her. I agree the engagement might've been a little bit of guilt, but they both wanted it for a long time.Thank you, it's been wonderful writing it.
  24. I like Colby a lot; he's a good guy and stands with his friends. Amber has such a big mouth! I'll see where she stands in the next book...
