  1. OMG, also, I came home to so much snow! There's like a metre of it out there now! Maybe more!
  2. Sounds like a very productive day. Well done!

I went through the rest of the day in a daze. When I got home, I did my homework and stayed in my room until the others came home. ‘Lawrence.’ Dad stood in the doorway to the bedroom. ‘I got a phone call from school today, saying you didn’t turn up for your morning lessons.’ ‘I . . . I was feeling sick,’ I told him. ‘After you’d left. I told them when I got there.’ Dad nodded. ‘Okay. Have you finished your homework?’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘Chicken pasta bake for tea today,’ said Dad. ‘Shou
  5. I'm hoooome! So tired. Boyfriend had veggie lasagne ready for me, so that was really nice. Gonna upload the next chapter of Storms now, I think. I left the laptop with boyfriend and only brought my iPad, and it's hell to copy-paste the text from the chapters on as it doesn't preserve formatting at all. Didn't think of that until it was too late... Oh well. Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday!
  6. Morning, DiC. On our way home now. Driving to the ferry. It’s not meant to be very windy today, but I took a travel sickness pill anyway. Feeling tired today, but amazingly much better than yesterday, though I felt more tipsy last night than the night before. I’ve had a very good time with people who were totally understanding and accepting of my gender identity. This Finnish lady I know came and hugged me and said she thought I seemed so much more grounded and comfortable than before. I think hearing and seeing that may have been really good for my mum. I think maybe she gets it a bit more. Anyway, I’ve prattled on enough. Hope you all have a great day!
  7. There was a Swedish poet/composer/musician back in the 18th century or so called Carl Michael Bellmann. He’s kind of a big deal within the Nordic folk music movement. He wrote love songs and drinking songs and all sorts. He wrote a song called Glimmande nymf, which means shining nymph. The whole thing is basically a single four minute long metaphor for sex, and it’s beautiful. I heard a wonderful performance of it just now. I’m headed to bed. We’re leaving at 10:30 tomorrow morning to get the ferry. It is now 3:25 AM. So, getting up will be fun. I’m a bit tipsy, but as opposed to yesterday, today I have only had wine. No whisky. Goodnight, DiC! See you tomorrow.
  8. Thank you! Sitting in a guitar circle now. Having fun, making some friends. Not drinking too much tonight. Also, I’ve stopped getting notifications when people comment on this thread, I only get them when I’m quoted. Anyone else having this problem?
  9. Concert went well! I am very pleased. Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.
  10. Had a nap. Am now at the venue. Gonna have a steak for lunch, because I can and they have reeeeaally good steaks here!
  11. Morning, DiC. Not doing great today. I was seriously not even drunk last night, but I feel hungover, lol! But then, I rarely drink at all these days, more than the occasional glass of wine. At least I know my liver’s working. I’ve got a 25 minute set today, playing five songs. Gonna run through them and then probably nap until it’s time to leave... Have a good day, all! Hope you’re doing better today, @BHopper2.
  12. I’ve had a very nice evening. Attended a Whisky Club meeting. We drank a Bowmore 15 years Bourbon Cask. It’s an Islay malt, so rather peaty, but this one had a fairly honeyed aftertaste. Smooth sipping. (I’m not drunk, I didn’t have that much.) Then I found a guitar circle, played a couple of songs, was flirted with by a 20 y.o. who was very eager to show off his mediocre guitar prowess, and finished the night by playing Smells Like Teen Spirit on the ukulele. In bed now. After yesterday’s anxiety, I’m glad today turned out so well. Tomorrow I’ve got a 25 minute set at a cafe in town. Goodnight, DiC! Be kind to yourselves and each other.
  13. Ouch. Hope it turns out to be something easy to fix. Sounds like you’ve had a hell of a day... Take care of yourself! Yay! Good for you.
  14. Thanks. Hope you’re having a good day as well.
  15. Now I can relax for the rest of the evening. I have an Irish coffee. Also, people have said nice things to me, so I feel pretty good.
  16. Well, I did it. Think it went fine. I was super nervous, though, so I didn’t play very well, lol! Still, people liked the song, I think.
  17. As long as they don’t ruin Deadpool I’m happy. Well, moment of truth. Going up there in five songs. Wish me luck.
  18. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I like action films. My favourite is Deadpool.
  19. Good luck at the doctor’s. Hope it’s nothing too serious.
