  1. You so did not invent pizza.
  2. I love Halloween. Like, all of October is Halloween to me. Mostly, I think this is because I'm still kind of a goth at heart, and I just love everything spooky and weird, and Halloween is the best time to express that without people thinking you're crazy. I mean, Halloween actually wasn't a thing here in Norway at all until a couple of decades ago when it slowly started to seep in. At that point, I had already been exposed through various media, including novels I liked, and jumped straight on the bandwagon. Again, goth. Spooky and weird is my jam.
  3. Seconded! We need a topic for proposed LGBTQ anthems.
  4. Book three will be extremely angsty, I can tell you that much. Thank you for sticking with my book, and for sharing your thoughts with me!

Daniel's coping by trying to rationalise it. It's not the healthiest thing to do, but for now it's working, kind of. Unfortunately, things will get worse before they get better.

Thank you! I rather like Jeff as well, and I think he and Kevin make a sweet couple. Thanks for your comment! Warms the heart.
  7. You always say the nicest things, Everett! Thank you. This comment made my day. I've not read Marvell, I'm afraid, but I'll check it out. You're quite the classic literature buff, aren't you?

    Michael

I'm sorry to hear that. Michael and Daniel aren't even a couple, he has no idea whether Daniel even likes boys, and Michael's still exploring his sexuality. In his shoes, I would have done the same thing. It's just a kiss.
  9. Ooh, thanks for mentioning Marsha P Johnson, @Saraband! You're right, so many forget about her. They also forget that Stonewall was a riot. Also, as far as Queen goes, I've always had a soft spot for John Deacon. He was the prettiest one. Also, bass players are awesome.
  10. Neither can I, if I'm honest. Three chapters left of the first draft. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment!
  11. It, er... It was a Karate Kid reference. Thanks for reading!
  12. Don't know if he's actually an icon, but Rob Halford of Judas Priest probably at least made a few machismo metal fans a bit less homophobic when he came out. Of course, how anyone could have missed the fact that he was gay, given his dress style and songs like Hellbent for Leather and Turbo Lover, is utterly beyond me.
  13. CHAPTER EIGHTEEN Begin the End Nick’s phone buzzed and Dave glanced sideways at it. Brian: Hey, cutie! Was thinking about you the other night. We should hang out again some time! Dave frowned. Then he heard Nick’s footsteps on the stair and a moment later his boyfriend was entering the sitting room again. ‘You got a text,’ said Dave. ‘Oh.’ Nick grabbed his phone from the table. ‘Who’s Brian?’ Dave asked as casually as he could manage. Nick shrugged. ‘Just th

I had never really liked going to school at the best of times. I’d been a bully magnet since my very first day of infant school, and had started faking illness so I wouldn’t have to go in year two. But I had never truly dreaded going to school before. I did now, especially on Mondays. From Thursday onwards, my week was okay. Loz had left me alone, as had most of my bullies, to an extent. I had talked to Julie a few times, which was nice, and I had managed to both eat and keep my food down. M
  17. Don't blame you for being pissed. I am too. Thanks for reading and commenting!
  18. Dave's mum has a lot of layers yet to be discovered. I feel like this is almost a theme with the characters in this story; humanising them all, from hero to villain. I prefer flawed, human characters, anyway. Thanks for your continued readership, and your comments!
  19. CHAPTER SEVENTEEN Broken Promise Nick stared up at the clear blue May sky. He lay on his back on the green next to the oak tree. His blue Ibanez lay in the grass next to him. It was a beautiful warm day, far too nice for sitting inside a practice room when the sun was shining down outside. Not that he could focus anyway, though. Since he and Dave made up, everything had been lovely. They had spent the Easter break being together almost all the time. It had been enough that Nick
  20. That's a wonderful analysis. Thank you! Don't think I've ever been (sort of) compared to Shakespeare before... I like Stuart. I'm very happy with him as a character, and in the next book, I'm exploring his character in even greater detail. He has a lot of hidden depth. When I first introduced him, people were so skeptical, many readers told me they didn't like him, which I thought was sad, because I find him to be a wonderful character. I'm glad to find that someone appreciates him and his actions.
  21. Patience, grasshopper. GA has restrictions on how many chapters you can post per day and how often.
  22. Yeah, this situation is pretty shitty. Meanwhile, Dave is just glad to have his boyfriend back. Poor Dave... Also, the third book is nearly finished, so thinking I may just post the two last chapters of this one tomorrow and the day after and get it over with. Thanks for commenting!
  23. CHAPTER SIXTEEN Blind Dave stared at his phone where it lay on his nightstand. It had been days without a single text from Nick. The last one had been sent Tuesday night and read, Good night. x I love you. Since their argument the day after that, there had been complete radio silence between them. It was Sunday afternoon. He supposed the guys would be on their way back from Birmingham by now. He had received a text from Alan the previous night, telling him that The Oxymorons ha
  24. Those films really are extremely good, though, just saying.
  25. David Bowie. Not only is he perhaps my favourite musician of all time, but he's an inspiration in terms of rejecting gender roles and restrictions, expressing both the masculine and the feminine. David Bowie has helped me on my own journey of gender and self expression. He was bisexual, and transcended the gender divide. For similar reasons, I also love Brian Molko from Placebo. He's bi, and when he started out, people had no idea of whether he was a man or woman. He also unabashedly writes and performs love songs to male lovers, songs full of feeling and eroticism. His bandmate Stef, who's gay, and a magnificent bass player, is of course also responsible for much of this. And then, there is Quentin Crisp, whom far too few people know about. Look him up. Seriously. And watch the films about him, starring John Hurt.
