Chapter Fifteen: Devil in the Details
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Fifteen: Devil in the Details
Yeah, Nick did a really awful thing, no doubt about it. This wasn't even where I had intended to go with this story, it just kind of happened. Though it's worth keeping in mind how much Nick has actually been through in the past year and a bit. He's carrying around a lot of pain and a lot of emotional baggage. That shit fucks you up. Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment! -

Partly modelled after a friend's mum. -
Chapter Seven: Scene of the Crime
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Seven: Scene of the Crime
Thank you! What a thoughtful analysis. Dave's mother is indeed an interesting character, and one I have experimented with quite a bit. I'm as interested as you are in finding out how she will develop in future. -
Chapter Fifteen: Devil in the Details
Thorn Wilde posted new chapter in Nemesis: Soulmates Never Die
CHAPTER FIFTEEN Devil in the Details ‘I guess if I did come along I’d just be a buzzkill, eh?’ said Zoë. ‘Yes. Yes you would.’ Nick grinned. ‘Relax. I’ll have my phone with me, I’ll be with the other guys all the time, and we’ve got a place to stay after the show. Matt knows his way around.’ Zoë sighed and nodded. ‘Have you got everything you need?’ Nick nodded. ‘Yes.’ ‘Guitar?’ ‘Check.’ ‘Clothes?’ ‘Check.’ ‘Mobile?’ ‘Check.’ ‘Bus fare?’- 6 comments

I'm reading the Witcher series (Currently on Sword of Destiny) by Andrzej Sapkowski, which is less horrifically toxically masculine than I feared. I'm also reading The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin, which I highly recommend to anyone who likes good thought provoking science fiction and political thought experiments.

Chapter One: Too Many Friends
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter One: Too Many Friends
By lining, I mean hem or waistline. Though, now that you mention it, I'm not entirely certain that this isn't just a thing I call it... Bears looking into. Glad you've been enjoying this so much! Thank you. -
Chapter Eighteen: Speak in Tongues

Thank you! I'm very pleased you like it. Thank you for your kind comment! -
It's hands down one of my absolute favourite films, I think. I watched it when it was seventeen minute short on YouTube, (called Eu Não Quero Voltar Sozinho/I Don't Want To Go Back Alone), before they got the funds to make a full length film. It was fantastic already then, but I was so happy when I found the full length one. Same actors. Check it out.

I read (listened to) the book. I know about the peach. Now I will really, really never look at a peach the same way ever again... Good book, though.

I don't know whether there should be queer spaces that are completely closed for members outside of the community, but I know that I and many of my friends are pretty sick of cishet folks coming to our clubs and events acting like they're in a zoo or something... I attended (and actually played music at) a concept a friend started last year at a small bar in Oslo, where LGBTQ+ folks would meet and there would be a DJ and a panel discussion and some entertainment. A large portion of us were trans or non-binary. Every time we held the event, you could see people walking by outside glancing at the window, doing a double take and then literally staring at us, our rainbow flags, and our unicorns through the window. We started waving at them until they got embarrassed and walked on... Many of my lesbian friends are also very bothered by straight guys hitting on them in queer spaces. Like, this is a gay bar, why are you hitting on the women here? There's like a 99% probability that they don't even like men. And a friend of mine who's trans was actually attacked in the ladies' room of a gay bar, by some guy who wouldn't accept that she was a she. A woman had told him to leave as it was the ladies' room, and he'd pointed to my friend and said, 'Well, he's in here.' When my friend said that she was, in fact, a woman, he tried to strangle her. When she told a bouncer, he basically went, 'Take it outside.' So, like, I don't think these spaces should be closed, but I think trying to discourage cishet folks from invading them is a good idea, especially when they're so clearly not even allies.

Chapter Fifteen: Come Home
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Fifteen: Come Home
It would have been the wisest course of action, but for a pair of teenaged boys who have never been taught what to do in that kind of situation, it probably wouldn't be the first thing to cross their minds, unfortunately. Thank you for reading and commenting! -
Thank you! That's the highest compliment a writer can get! I'm glad you enjoyed it. ❤️

I've written prologues for other works. Nemesis 2 has a prologue, for example. A few of my unfinished and unpublished novels have them too, and as much as I love SFF, I only write drama. That's just me, though.
-
Well, I feel like in that case it's not the prologue that's the problem, it's the book itself. Or, the writer. I dunno, if the prologue's bad then I expect the rest of the work to be, too. I get what you're saying, though.
-
I can't for the life of me understand why you wouldn't read a prologue. Why would you skip part of a book? That's just weird, I had no idea people did this. Now starting to wonder if anyone ever skipped a prologue to one of my stories...

Chapter Six: Teenage Angst
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Six: Teenage Angst
The latter is, I think, something I just made up. I have a lot of terms I use that basically mean 'I feel like shit', lol! As for 'What the actual fuck?' it's something I encountered on the internet at some point and it just stuck. I don't think it's idiomatic to any particular region. Anyway, if you like my swearing, you might want to check out my Jacob & Marcus Tales, which literally started out as an exercise in creative swearing. Bit of shameless self-promotion. Anyway, very happy you're still enjoying the story, and I hope you continue to do so! -
Chapter Four: Bruise Pristine
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Four: Bruise Pristine
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you're enjoying it. After leaving these stories for so long, I feel like I've lost most of my readership, so it's great to hear from new readers. Thank you! ❤️ -
Chapter Fourteen: Summer's Gone
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Fourteen: Summer's Gone
Actually, the remaining chapters of this volume are pretty much done, but I'm spacing out updates to once per week so that, hopefully, by the time I'm done there won't be too long of a wait for volume 3. So glad you like it! Thank you! ❤️ -
CHAPTER FOURTEEN Summer's Gone Nick dialled Dave’s number. It rang three times before he answered. ‘Hey,’ said Nick. ‘I just finished up for the day. Do you wanna hang out?’ There was a brief pause on the line, and he heard Dave pull a deep breath. ‘I’m sorry,’ he said after a moment. ‘Mandi and I are doing lab prep today.’ ‘Oh. Are you at her place?’ ‘No, we’re on the bus. She’s coming to mine. There’s more space in my room, so . . .’ Unbidden images of Dave an

So, I've been on a movie binge today. I watched Call Me By Your Name, Handsome Devil, and Love, Simon. And then I rewatched The Way He Looks because it's one of my favourites and it gives me happies.
-
It's not abridged.
-
Well, I have an audible credit, and it's read by Armie Hammer, so . . . starting that tomorrow, I guess.
-
OMG, you just made my day!! <3<3<3<3

So, I'm sitting here sobbing like a baby because I just watched Call Me By Your Name. So, thanks for that, guys. Also, I will never look at a peach the same way again for as long as I live. EDIT: Also, Sufjan Stevens, I love!! ❤️
