Alex can either punish him for it, or accept it and learn to deal with it when it comes up. He's remarkably practical about it, he values Brian more than any external tool applying pressure to his boyfriend.
West needed it, in my opinion. Peter's as good for West as West is good for him. Though Peter's abject horror at the thought of having kids is amusing to me.
Brian's tough, tougher than Alex who is more skilled. They balance each other really well, which I enjoy. Brian brings Alex to life, and Alex gives Brian the challenge he never had in Kyle.
Canada has a long history of... diplomatic tension.
I remember one round occoured after the Iranian state hanged two 13-14 boys who were caught for being gay. Canada went apoplectic at them (Rightly so.) Canada has always called Iran on it's track record of human rights, Iran has always loathed Canada for it. The fact that Will allowed a "I can't believe it's not a diplomat" into his office, to sit and stare at him and say nothing, would amuse the hell out of them. Which is what Will was counting on to sell it to the US.
