I like that no one in this story is a magic bullet.
Ollie doesn't fix Axl's problems, Axl doesn't fix Ollie's.
Orel just facilitates by nudging them together.
Aiden and Marshall are just existing in their space, loving and loved by Axl. Their one dependable constant.
Chapter Five: Isopod Canada: A Glimpse Behind the Curtain
The carriage house behind the old manor Grady Place had been converted into something between a home and a laboratory. Shelves lined every wall, each one filled with terrariums of varying sizes—some no bigger than a shoebox, others stretching nearly the full width of the room. Inside them, a small universe of isopods went about their tiny lives, unaware that they were the subjects of one of the most quietly obsessive YouTu
I like Levesque in this one, Community leader and the local Militia leader. Elias Harding does his investigations, but it is Levesque organizing the townsfolk and preparing a defense. Gives him agency. The general, directing.
Bobby mounting the bridge defense, organizing the choke point. The officer on the ground, ready for war.
And keep an eye on Kieran McCormick, he's got a redemption arc to go from pick-pocket to earning forgiveness for his part in Timmy's shooting.
Chapter 9: The Devil’s Run
The Wilderness Trail. Noon.
Jack did not run like a horse. He ran like a machine fueled by a purpose that was both simpler and more profound than human thought. There was no vocabulary for duty or love in his equine mind, only a landscape of sensation and instinct: the ghost of Theo’s hands, trembling as they released his bridle; the sharp, metallic scent of fear on the canvas satchel; the desperate, choked pleading in the air around him. It wasn’t a command
i am not sure.
TBH this one is not going to be a long one. All I am doing is really setting up "The loyal and the Betrayed" which is the town recovery, and all of that... I could have rolled this story into that one... but Marshall-Lee and Aiden would have gotten lost in that heavy plot line... I wanted to give them some room to breathe on their own, and establish that Axl and Ollie are dating properly before doing that.
I have about five chapters written... not sure how many more beyond that, a couple I think.
No more than 8 for this one. Short story/novella just to ... cleanse the palate and give me a chance to rest and write something silly and fun.
dunno yet tbh, I wrote am writing this to take a break from some pretty heavy writing. Jason Jensen is a VERY heavy write... so wanted something charming. I don't think there's going to be death defying stuff going on. Just Axl and Ollie finding something in each other. Probably some squabbles like new couples who aren't used to dating often do.
This is supposed to be light and fluffy.
i need light and fluffy right now
Love that Ollie missed that.
OREL: HE MEANS HE WANTS YOUR...
Ollie: Yes, thank you Orel, I got it... I don't need your play by play.
OREL: JUST CHECKING, YOU HAVE A STATISTICALLY HIGH CHANCE OF...
Ollie: Yes, Orel, we get it, you're invested in our sex life... if you turn the cameras off we might do something about it.
OREL: MY VIEWERS ARE INVESTED TOO...
Ollie: FINN, for the love of god, get naked and distract your husband before I shoot him!
Chapter 4: Sausage Delivery Protocol 2 (The Stuffed Crust Is Extra)
The three days between Orel's proposition and Friday night were the longest of Axl Fraser's life.
Not because he was nervous. He wasn't nervous. He was *Axl Fraser*. He'd been holding his family together since he was twelve. He'd survived the naked walk of shame. He'd watched his little brother fall in love with a leaf-collecting weirdo and only taken approximately twelve thousand photos for blackmail purposes.
Cam's a really sweet guy, given the time I figured he'd probably work the desk at the hotel. Levesque is one of those men that would find a job for someone he went through battle with. And I like that Cam has a chill attitude, tempered by both Elias/Theo and Timmy/Bobby. To him it's not about what, but rather who the person is.
I do live in Warwick... home of the Reform County Council.... :: shudders :: Yep, we know detestible local politicians around here.
The candidate for MP for the Reform party is LITERALLY Called Mr. D'eath
Timmy would like to point out that, though he did spend a lot of time in Well's as a child, and yes he did have a dog. He's gotten quite adept at climbing... and somewhere last winter, the Dog ran off with a poodle!
