I'm going to go on a moderately different vein from what I've seen in the other reviews here. Of course, I adore your characterization, truly. That's understood, I think. What I really, really love about this story, though, is the focus that you are putting on the relationship between the boy and his horse. I have been around horses all my life, and I know that bond intimately well. All too often I've read "cowboy stories" where people just..don't get it, or they simply don't emphasize it enough. It's a background thing that's taken for granted, and you have not done that. I feel like Rhydian's relationship with his horse is just as important as the other relationships that he is developing- and sometimes more important- and I think that is fantastic, because that's really what it is like. So, thank you so much for showing how that relationship matters, and how much good it can do a person to have that bond, how much it's really needed.
