Actually, we don't yet know about Shane's past. Also, if you look at Shane's comments and actions, try reading them with the idea in mind that he already knows Trevor's sexuality. There are lots of indicators that he's already aware. ;-)

Trevor has to come out soon, VERY soon... he knows Joel is coming for a visit.

Shane did talk about girls... but only back in Carnarvon. Trevor is trying to feel Shane out, but he know he has to come out soon: Joel is coming, and he knows Joel would slip and out him. Trevor will come out very, very soon... Let's just say that no one will be asking when after the next chapter posts. ;-)

Cliffhanger??? But I never, ever use cliffhangers. Yep, Trevor has some after-effects of his ordeal, and you're right, the fact he can still be on a boat (especially one so much like Atlantis) is a good sign. "Root" has a specific meaning in Aussie slang... But, it's one I can't say here... What I can do though is give a link to an Australian dictionary, which will take you right to the R section. So, what was Shane slyly asking? "Which team do you **** for?" Basically the same as asking "Which team do you play for?". And yep, normally girls would absolutely go crazy for Shane... Though, in Carnarvon, there was only one girl who was hitting on Trevor, and she was mesmerized by the pirate story, plus him being shirtless (Shane, rarely for him, wasn't). So, we have clues, but we just don't know yet. Shane did seen rather hated by some, Ned included. However, Ned accused Shane of hitting on women (including his wife). Confusing, isn't it? Don't worry though, it all makes perfect sense, and all the clues become obvious... once you know. Yep, the meeting between Lisa, Joel, and Dirk will be very revealing... for them, and for us. Good catch: Shane is very observant, and, as we saw with the kangaroos, is good at thinking ahead. Shane is also a budding writer, and as we saw with "Night of the Mob", he's very fond of misdirection, which he calls a sneaky writer's trick. ********************** Okay, time to mention the next chapter title: "Breaking Point".

I was looking for something alone those lines and remembered that line from "Forbidden Planet" which was already a very old move when I first saw it, around 30 years ago. Good catch!!! Demons of the ID Sorry, I can't give spoilers... but I can mention that one of the categories the story is listed under is "relationship". Shane's story was a bit different. It even uses Australian spellings due to it being a direct look at something Shane wrote. Shane is a writer, so he was able to pull that off... as he said, misdirection, a sneaky writers trick. Did you see any red roos out there in Wickham? Thanks! Hopefully it will post on time. Cliffhangers?!?!! But but but... I never use cliffhangers! I can't see what all the fuss is about... When I was on a family vacation to Australia, we went to a Koala reserve to see Koalas. We saw eucalyptus trees, but no koalas. Then, a few days later inland from Canberra, we stopped for a break beneath some trees. After a while, we noticed some koalas in them. Cliffhanger? But but but... I never use cliffhangers! And hrmmm... does Trevor even have the option of not telling Shane? He knows Joel will be there soon, and he knows that trying to keep it a secret with Joel around will be impossible... All i can say is... um, not much actually, not without giving spoilers. But... for all things, there is a reason.

I've only been to Sweeden twice, for a few days each time, so admittedly, I probably didn't get it right. What I based the language issue on is that in rural areas, such as where I was in the north, I found fewer English speakers. I also assumed that names that had fallen out of favor would be more common in rural areas, much the way they are in the US. I assumed too much, I ought to have checked into it more.

The parting was hard for me to write... it made me sad too.

They’d anchored Kookaburra close inshore, barely grounded, and the receding tide had left her partially beached, in just three feet of water. That made getting ashore a simple matter of wading. I'd like to point out that the sign specifically says SHOOTING OF GOATS IS PROHIBITED!! Always good advice. And Lol, you'd thing they could spell the name of the place the same way in the same sign. The reporter may, or may not, know why Trevor wants to stay hidden, but... yeah, he's sticking his nose in where it does not belong. Trevor/Shane situation? HAnging? But... I'd never leave readers hanging.. that's far too close to a cliffhanger! Would I do such a thing as that? Good point on Shane not being able to get Kookaburra out of there. He can't. Trevor doesn't have the option of never telling Shane; Trevor knows that Joel is coming, and would take bout thrity seconds to slip and yell "Sexual Harassment!" if Trevor so much as sneezes. Things are definitely coming to a boil... One has to hope that Trevor is in a good frame of mind to handle some serous stress. Not a spoiler. As for a prophesy.. maybe. Trevor is certainly infatuated. And yep, Henry and Gonzalez are assuming Joel has dirt on George. The shock on Dirk's face? Maybe.. but Gonzalez has another idea to get Joel to give over the info. I wonder what will happen if Gonzalez takes Joel to the State Attorney and has him talk to him and reveal what he "knows" thinking it would help nail George and Bridget? Only to have Joel offer up what he thinks regarding Jim... Hrmmm, might not make the rest of Gonzalez's case look so great... Pillow talk can be hazardous in this case. The BBQ on the beach... Hrmmm... should I give a spoiler? One can truly say that Talonrider uses the hunt-and-peck typing method. We do know that Sanchez called Australia... but his criminal compatriots there need a location for Trevor. Has he found him yet? Lisa and Joel are on the wrong track, but they have no way of knowing that, not yet. This does put them in the ideal position to inadvertently throw monkey wrenches into Henry and Gonzalez's work though. The next chapter is called "The Night of the Mob".

Chapter 74: Intrepid Investigators The air hung heavy that morning, almost motionless, imposing an eerie stillness on Carnarvon as it baked in the Australian sun. LoL! Chapter 73 is "Machinations". Hey... er, that's what posted last time! Ummm, I think I meant chapter 74, Intrepid Investigators. Goats cannot count...

Red, Lol... Yes, I cannot count. Red BTW was the one responsible for the realism in boat handling in places like Faure Sill. He's a pro, and has helped more ways than I can count. JAn, if you compiled a list of those, it would be a novel in and of itself. As i recall for that one, I originally did just bungle the counting, but made it part of the dialog for fun instead of just fixing it. A few other memorable counting issues (All caught before posting by my team, so just the team saw them) In FTL, we had Officer Octopus; he was depicted of having four or five things in his hands at once, one in each hand... A three-day weekend in FTL... Saturday, the next day, then Sunday. In LTMP, I think I had a character tossing his keys across the room to himself... Early in Circumnavigation, when Trevor was boarding the three women on the charter in Florida, they originally came with just two suitcases total (two of them shared) and Trevor carried them aboard, one in each hand. But, on my first runthrough (before any of the team saw the chapter) I decided that was unlikely, and changed it to three suitcases. I, of course, forgot to change the ref to him carrying them aboard, one in each hand. At another point, Trevor had one eye on the depth gauge, one eye on the nav screen, and one eye on the channel ahead. Also, more than once, Trevor has pulled an ice cold BEAR from the galley refrigerator. Personally, i think this is likely (any bear in there would be cold, right?) but my team disagrees so i changed it to beer. Goats cannot count. Or, my other excuse; nowhere in the narration does it say that Trevor does not have three or more hands, arms, eyes, etc. LoL! Nice to know I'm not the only one. Well, the chapter changes are done (not posted yet though). I ended up moving the T-day dinner to the end of chapter 70, after the meeting, and tidying up supporting details to fit. The only remaining anomaly is that now the Florida and Australia timelines diverge a bit, (Friday one place, Thursday the other) but not too badly (and that part of Australia is 12 hours ahead of Florida anyway). Anyway, I've made the changes to 70, 71, and 72, but I'll post them after 74 posts. I'll add an author's note explaing the change. Mainly, just the T-day dinner moved, and I changed the supporting details (such as the day mention in 70, and MArtin now says "tonight" instead of "tomorrow" for the dinner he gives Shane), and a few details in 71 and 72. In place of the missing T-day dinner, they now have leftovers, and that's covered by a one-sentance paragraph. BTW, chapter 73 should be posting on time, this Tuesday.
