Bryce thought for a moment, he knew that surname from the past somewhere, then it suddenly clicked, Miranda Edgerton, the really nice young lady that was his first relationship. That was nearly five years ago, just before his 16th birthday that he met her, and now he was going to see her again, Bryce was not sure how he felt about that. Two days later at the Port Headland airport, a Landcruiser was parked not far away from the main building as Bryce climbed down the stairs from the

With the remaining 24 weeks of training, I trained and studied hard, and as expected a number of cadets pulled out, because they could not cope with the stresses of the training, and we were pushed to our limits every day, not knowing how well we were going, only that we were passing everything we were tasked with to do. As graduation day, known as the Sovereign’s Parade, fast approached, I was getting nervous, not sure how well I did, on the morning parade before graduation, the remaining

Bryce also increased the staff numbers at Pondana, to include a teacher, a teacher’s assistant, plus an administration assistant to help Bryce and his mothers to cope with the extra work load, of running now a large business, of 8 cattle stations, 4 road houses and a remote area school for all the children that live on these stations. The administration centre also became the office of the Nullabour Plain Region Pastoralists Association or NPRPA. NPRPA, with great deal of assistance

This time round, we settled into our North Yorkshire home a lot quicker than last time, us kids had a bedroom each, which was great, but for the first few weeks, Simeon snuck into my room and climbed into bed next to me, which I didn’t really mind, since this was a new environment for him. With it being the third week for school at Catterick, it was decided by Mum and Dad that I start right away and try and catch up as quick as I can, and with me nearly being 15 years old, I was enrolled into ye

With 29 station staff including family and 4 RFDS crew, plus the roadhouse staff, it ended up being quite a good sized party. Once again Daniel seemed to be always happy when he was around or near Bryce. Daniel’s boss noticed this but didn’t want to bother Daniel about it at this time. The presents mostly consisted of just cheeky birthday cards. Bryce read them out allowed, one card said "Best wishes young man, your present is outside on the trailer, Lots of love from both your mum's.” Pe

“Nice to meet you both,” Sarah said with a smile, and she gave me a slight wink, to indicated that she remembered me. I smiled as she turned and left. “Was that a slight kiwi accent I heard from Sarah?” I asked knowing full well that it was. “Yes, well picked up Anton. She is from New Zealand. She arrived with her 11-year old son three years ago, and works here and lives in a cottage nearby,” Mr Sanderson replied. “I see. It must be nice to have another woman on the station, Mrs S

To put it on you place the large circle over the nose first, with the single joining piece at the bottom. The steel piece joined to the small circle is called the bit, which you hold in an open hand, and guide it into the horse’s mouth, as you slide the small circle over the horse’s nose. Once you have done that, you slide the top part of the large circle over the horses ears, so it is sitting just behind the ears. “The halter, bit and reins, the lead and saddle, are also referred together

Bryce retorted, “You will only pack and load your personal belongings and nothing more, or you will be charged with stealing. I have a full list of station assets and hope that none of it is being loaded onto that vehicle or trailer” Bryce said then strode off to find the office. “Hey, you have no right to speak to me like that!” he turned to speak directly to Barrett still standing there, “He’s just some young bloke who thinks he knows it all.” he started to protest. Barrett laughed a

“You never know, we may bump into each other again further up the road,” I said to them as I handed over the box of food and equipment, and after a round of hugs and hand-shakes, I returned to my camp and settled down for a good night’s sleep. I was up just before 5 am. There was just a slight tinge of daylight coming from the Eastern horizon as I quickly packed up my swag and folded up the awning. Once all was packed, I grabbed a couple of apples to snack on till I could stop for a quick b

Amanda faced me and she had tears in her eyes, “I absolutely love it, you guys are spoiling me, thankyou Nav” she said to me, wrapping her arms around my neck and kissing me on the cheek, which made me blush. Back in the dining room, with the three crew members gathered once more. “Amanda and Sam know this information, but I need you Marcus to know that on this boat, Jay is the captain, he prefers to be known as skipper, or Jay, while his wife Jacqueline or Jacq for short, she is second in

Then next day I was feeling miserable of what the delay in the mail had done to upset Jacob, I decided to remain in bed as I wasn’t feeling up to going to university today, and when I didn’t turn up for breakfast, aunty Jacq came to find out why. I explained to her about how rotten I felt about how I treated Jacob, and that my rotten luck I was not able to see him before he left to go back home, and Aunty Jacq said for me to stay in bed and rest, while she would bring me my breakfast. Drp better connecting roads are not always possible in the Australian outback, alot of them get damaged by storms, wildlife and being used by heavy vehicles.
