As a comparison, Carnegie Station is approximately the same size in area as the US state of Rhode Island... 4,000 sq kms. Or slightly bigger than the County of Essex and slightly smaller than the County of Hampshire in the UK... -

It can be, if you haven't worked on the land before.... I grew up on a large mixed farm north of Perth, andi I have lived and worked on pastoral stations many times, the first time just before my 18th birthday. -

Some cattle stations in Australia are far bigger than Carnegie... Rawlinna Station in the Nullarbor Plain of West Australia is Australia's largest sheep station @ 2.47 million acres. Home Valley Station in the Kimberley is West Australia's largest cattle station @ 3.459 million acres. Anna Creek Station in far northern South Australia is Australia's largest cattle station @ 5.851 million acres. -
I had just finished my work commitments at a remote coastal Sheep & Cattle Station in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia, which is located 170 kilometres north of Carnarvon and 1,055 kms south of Perth, just one week before Christmas. I jumped out of my seat and dashed back towards where I had just moments earlier.
