  1. Lysistrata which is how I should have typed it... .... Well... here... let's let Wikipedia 'splain it all for us... Lysistrata Lysistrata is a comedy by Aristophanes. Originally performed in classical Athens in 411 BCE, it is a comic account of a woman's extraordinary mission to end the Peloponnesian War by denying all the men of the land any sex, which was the only thing they truly and deeply desired. Lysistrata persuades the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace—a strategy, however, that inflames the battle between the sexes. The play is notable for being an early exposé of sexual relations in a male-dominated society. Additionally, its dramatic structure represents a shift from the conventions of Old Comedy, a trend typical of the author's career.
  2. Ok, I'm sure the Bieber poster making you gay thing has to be some kind of really bad Canadian joke... Which is fine... But the cute introvert type is VERY difficult to suss out--especially when you are young and inexperienced... As usual though, I think he's got a lot of trouble in that I think he'll find that Nicola will be strangely supportive of him (as he will in helping her to get a secret abortion after her shenanigans this weekend...) when he comes out--you'll notice she was not taking any crap from that douche bag who is going to rear his ugly, drug addled head this week.... And I think that Daniel will be fine--especially if the two of them were to find some more modest ways to uh... divide up their living space? Just putting it out there... and yup Sue will have his back, and pull a full double-twisting Lysistrata should Don not be down with a Gay Robbie... Really its the only thing that old straight boys understand... no nookie until you get with the program... LOL.... Another winner Dodger!
  3. Uh... Very problematic?? Judgy much? LOL... You know, anyone who has been through the kinds of trauma Robbie has been through... well... he's doing pretty good... and look, ma, no counseling. Has he got himself into some scrapes? Sure. But the fact that he doesn't enjoy hurting people, the fact that he genuinely appreciates people for who they are... (Ok, maybe he's a little ga ga over Nathan... but I've been married for over a decade and I'm still a little ga ga over my guy...) all point to a Robbie who, (unless I miss my guess...) is truly a good guy who is stronger, and more capable than he, or his author knows yet... and who knows... maybe there's a good bit of that intellect and strength in this guy named Dodger who writes about him... (I'd bet there is... and I'd bet that Dodger's got a real task-master of an inner-critic too... LOL... ) My suggestion, be gentle with your characters, and be gentle with yourself--you'll be amazed at what you all will create together... (Yes, I smile like this in real life too! )
  4. Flaws??? Having been a bit "Nathan" myself in my younger days... there is no better way to mislead silly straight folks from the necessarily closeted love of your life, than by openly and outrageously flirting without reservation with a hot (but hopelessly introverted) stud who is NOT said love of your life. Doing this in front of said life love, typically requires a little pre/post negotiation, but I've done this VERY thing in my younger days as an out-when-no-one-else-was guy who was hiding a budding relationship with a 'friend of a friend.' I never wanted anything to do romantically with any of the haplessly adorable recipients of my overly fawning attentions (and the one time that one of those cuties did sit and talk with me privately about things happening between us, I made sure I was, gentle, and explained I was already involved, but that I did it because I sensed that he might need a cover--and what better way to protect HIS reputation by giving him a chance to publicly deny any kind of interest in that kind of thing... Ah the eighties... I loved them so... (BTW, me and hopelessly introverted cutie, are still good friends--no benefits--to this day--and he is living very happily and now safely openly with his husbear... and I have a wonderful husband who is even more flirty than I am--AND can I tell you--the service, the discounts that this hubby of mine gets us is well... awe-inspiring... LOL... Dodger, you write well, and I've truly enjoyed reading your story! I hope you and yours are well... --Dave M.

    Chapter 5

Friend, As a dyslexic guy with ADHD your wiriting is extremely compelling--I've read Somewhere Out of the Blue and This wonderful story. You know how to create characters and story lines that are simple and yet allow the emotional depth of relationships amongst your characters to create the complexity. I know it's been a while... I hope you are well, and that you are still writing! If you've changed venues--please, let me know where to find your newer work. Thank you for sharing some outstanding work. Dave
