Mark, Congratulations on your achievement. Earning a terminal degree with a written dissertation and thesis defense is one of the most difficult endeavors in academia. Another is earning the recognition of your colleagues with an award of an appointment with tenure. I am so happy for you. WELL DONE!!!!!! You deserve some time off to rest and rejuvenate. A number of months ago you shared with us that you were not feeling quite as well as you had in recent years, but were improving. . You posted a few new chapters in CAP and Bridgemont series and they were just awesome and were like gifts to all of us, your loyal fans. And the plot thickens. So much to think about. Lord Preston's involvement in Elizabeth's attack is one that I did not see coming. I hope that Wade will explain how he deduced that bit of information, or is it a red herring? Hmmmm. This meeting at Goodwell will prove interesting. Let's not forget about Buzz's third wife. Somehow, I think she is related to Joaquin and this plot thread becomes more complex. Great job Mark. This was definitely worth the brief wait. Always, Jack

Dear Mark, Thank you for posting your update. Your lack of energy comes as no surprise. Just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Speaking for myself and I am certain for everyone else who has been following CAP and Bridgemont series, we send you our love and best wishes. I have taken this time to begin the CAP series once again and even though it is now my fifth or sixth read, I am compelled to comment on how brilliantly you have conceived and written this saga. I am picking up so many more nuances with each reading regarding hints of future twists and turns in the storyline. I just don't know how you do it, how you seem to know in early books what will happen 20 or 30 years in the future and insert little prophetic lines. You just amaze me. I was also away from this story for several months and just completed this fantastic trilogy. Thank you so much for sharing this tale with all of us. You gave life to these characters and gave them emotions to which we can all relate. Now I need to search the site for another series, but it will not be an easy task. You are one of my favorite authors. I hope the muses soon inspire you to begin another series. Best Regards Jack

As I am working my way though the books again, I just started "Poor Man's son". I remember when I started reading it the very first time and how upset I was with Mark's April Fool's spoof until I realized it was really a spoof. Next week is April 1, perhaps we may be surprised with another spoof to start off the next chapter. Well at least I'm hoping. Love you Mark. Jack

I am amazed that I discover little things I missed with previous reads. Nevertheless, with each read, my admiration and respect for Mark's writing talent grows exponentially. Jack

Well, well, well !!! In the prologue you began setting up the drama, first with Will and Zack. Then ME and JJ. Now in the very first chapter, you continue with this crescendo of drama between Brad and Will culminating with one of the best dramatic Escorial diners, suggesting an exciting and extremely bumpy ride for everyone.
