As I read this , I realized I was holding my breath. Jack's breakdown is heartwrenching Nick's realization about the cutting is too. His feeling of helplessness is palpable. Tommy is the friend Nick has needed for so long and needs more now. I hope Jack can get through his jealousy issues because he'll be good for him as well.

Poor Jack. He's terrified of things going back to "before". He needs to work through the jealousy but it's understandable. You can feel how much he and Nick love each other but jealousy can be suffocating.

I feel bad for Jonah but he did cross a line. I hope they can get past it but the friendship is never going to be the same. Nick may have been a little harsh because he was mad at himself too. We finally get to know what's next. Can't wait for the next chapter

Great chapter! We finally have Josel's family history and it's a doozy. It explains so much and creates quetions too. How will Josel react when he knows the story? *starts counting the days until the next chapter *

I'm happy the boys made up! However, I don't get why Nick is withholding the pics. He doesn't seem to realize that they could make so much difference at the outset. Does he think that he's going be the knight in shining armour and whip them out just as things go bad? He needs to get out of his own head.

I love this chapter. Nick and Jack learning and loving. Nick's mom being the coolest mom ever. Nick coming out to Tommy. It feels idyllic. I can't stop feeling like a shoe will drop when they go back to school, though. Seems like our boys never have an easy time of it for long. Until next week, I'll bask in their joy. 😊

I really enjoyed this chapter. I just hope Josel works out his feelings about Zdain in time to save him from Renn or that Renn is exposed for what he is soon.

I love seeing more of Franz. I was thinking that we hadn't seen him in a bit. Now we know he got his adventurous nature and restlessness from his father. Also, more mystery surrounding Sandkan family. Looking forward to next week!❤️

Noah is a serious asshole and Nick is way too easy on him. Even at fourteen, I would've made him tell everyone he lied and then I'd never speak to him again. His confusion here makes my head want to explode. Noah is such a manipulator. GRRRR

Nick needs to the daylights shaken out of him. He finally seems to be realizing that he's the bad guy. I know he's 14 and navigating a reality that is new to him but he's obviously never heard the phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too". Subconsciously, I thinks he knows Noah isn't forever and he wants Jack to just wait in the wings. He's infuriating in this chapter. This chapter filled me with strong emotions. The sign of a great writer. Thanks and well done!

Nick is too naive to see Noah for what he really is. Nick also likes the danger of him, whether he knows it or not. He wants experiences and he seems headed for some painful ones

I will read as many books as you write. Even with the frustrations. Zdain's fear is complcating, not just his life, but the others as well. I hope Renn dies in a spectacular and painful way.

I suspected a shapeshifter from the moment they appeared with Taryn. It wouldn't make sense for him to go that far yet. I feel like the Jewler knows it's too soon in Justin's development. Losing Taryn would send Justin into a spral none of them could handle. He expects Taryn to die and I agree that he is in grave danger. The Jeweler sees him as only a part of the prophecy. I don't trust the Jeweler. He's a zealot and they're always dangerous.

I have cried through this entire chapter. I'll miss Dylan so much. I held out hope right to the end that Justin would miraculously find a way. This chapter is heartbreaking and beautiful.

I'm taking this one slow because it's so heartwrenching. I need a breather after a couple of chapters. This one wasn't as hard on me as the previous ones. I just ache for Taryn AND Alec and knowing where it ends breaks my heart. All that is to say, great addition to GFD.

I literally gasped when I realized that Rage was Alec, Taryn's little brother. I'm hoping this is picked back up we get more of the story.
