  1. Zdain Movement around him slowed, and the sounds faded into a dull blur in his ears. Zdain looked into Ade's dark eyes and, for a moment, saw nothing else. He had dreamed of this reunion countless times, but none of those imaginings came close to reality. Not even his most fevered fantasies had been able to conjure a feeling like this. "Ade," Zdain almost groaned. His mouth was dry, and his eyes filled helplessly with tears. He couldn't — he couldn't bear it. It was all too much,

    Chapter 16

I know!😅 I’m trying to keep the readers hooked on the story.😉
  3. Lupus

    Chapter 16

@Seraph28 You’re probably right. Most likely Ade despises Dareis and Elyssa so much that he’s willing to scheme behind Tac’s back in this matter. @drsawzall That's true — each of them has their own agenda, and many of those motives are downright selfish. It’s no wonder this group struggles to find any real common ground. The role of the republican rebels has grown quite large in this story, especially considering that Tac Temogam didn’t even appear in books 1 and 2.

    Chapter 16

In my view, it’s more a matter of Ade trying to balance his loyalties. On one hand, he wants to be obedient to Vargan, who helped him and Plink when they were young; on the other hand, he believes in the ideals of the Republic and therefore feels it’s important to follow Tac Temogam.😎
  5. Lupus

    Chapter 16

Do you mean Ade as well?😲
  6. Adenolei The meeting had been convened in haste. Ade sat beside Isendar Vargan in the cramped back room they used for their discussions — a space barely large enough for a long table with a few chairs. Tac Temogam had taken his place opposite them and looked deeply pensive. The sudden appearance of the deputy leader of the Shadow Cross in the republicans' headquarters had understandably been quite a shock even for a rebel commander who had weathered more than most. Ade suspected Tac wo

    Chapter 1

This new story begins in a truly intriguing way. I’m excited to see what will happen next. It left me wondering whether we’ll ever learn more about Mr Kent’s past.
  8. Lupus

    Chapter 7

A sad and truly powerful chapter. You captured Sam’s emotions — the sorrow and the despair — exceptionally well.
  9. Lupus

    Chapter 15

Plink is so sly that she’s not dealt with that easily😀
  10. Franz The Mirror of Dreams had been placed on a low table around which the whole group had gathered. A cloth still covered the mirror, yet Franz could already sense its presence. His fingers tingled with anticipation. He wanted to rip the cloth aside and peek into the enchanted looking-glass. At the same time, he was rather afraid. At Tialing's suggestion, Franz would be the one to present the questions to the mirror. "You are a dreamseer," the Ksingi girl had said. It meant Franz had

    Chapter 4

You write exceptionally well. You describe landscapes vividly, the characters are interesting, and the plot is exciting. This is truly a pleasure to read.🙂
  12. Lupus

    Chapter 14

Excellent observations. I can’t really say much more without giving anything away.😉 We’re not even halfway through this fourth book yet, so there’s plenty of time for all sorts of things to happen. The Ksingis will also have an impact on the events of the story. Next we’ll meet Franz and the others again — this book has more Franz chapters than the previous ones.

    Chapter 14

@Seraph28 So true! Jolanda really wouldn’t have been a good choice for Josel as a girlfriend. He dodged a bullet 😄 @akascrubber Good guess. Something important to the plot does happen in that ceremony. Let’s hope for the best and fear the worst.😬🤞
  14. Zaltarim Dundres, Andiol Empire Charming, sensual Dundres. Of all the cities in Andiol, Dundres had always been Zal's favorite. It was not impressive in the dignified way of Nao‑Kartheon, nor was it dull, middle‑class and uniformly prosperous like the Lake Towns. If great Dimalos was the king of Andiol's cities and Nao‑Kartheon its queen, then Dundres could well be called the realm's pretty little princess. In the white harbor of Dundres, beneath the gilded domed roofs, the whole wor
